On one hand after what happened to his teammate Marcus Lattimore last year which cost him millions of dollars, you can see the reasoning behind what is going on here. When will South Carolina say enough is enough? What would you do in this situation if you're South Carolina?
Can't say I blame the kid. Fuck every time he is on the field it is a double team or some low block going down.
Speaking of, ESPN is right at this moment showing an interview with Clowney, live. Can't believe Spurrier is allowing this. It seems like he has washed his hands of this entire situation. The expected questions are being asked. Nothing earth shattering with the answers he is giving.
I think his draft stock has fallen tremendously. At the beginning of the year, all the talk was how he was unblockable and would be the first pick of the draft, hands down. Starting with the first game when he took himself out of the game and now this, teams have to be leery of his attitude and work ethic. He may still be a top 1o pick, but I doubt he's going No. 1 now.
Do any of you remember Gary Danielson in, I think, the Alabama game in '07, saying that Miles needed to tell Dorsey (who looked gimpy for a few minutes) that he needed to quit playing that season and just be ready for the pros? I guess this is what Clowney has decided to do. The question is, what will the pros think of this? It was a knock on Big Sam that he took plays off. Clowney is taking games off, literally.
His scholarship should be immediately revoked and he should be charged for every semester he attended that is considered part of the 2013/2014 season.
Apparently he is contemplating not playing anymore because he doesn't want to get hurt and miss out on 1st round money. He excused himself from South Carolina's last game stating he was too hurt to play also.
