    That is sad. Not because of the crystal, numerous companies are already saying they can make it "better" and "more beautiful." But I always get a little sad when traditions end and numerous people find themselves suddenly out of work. Not because of their own individual deeds, but that of the corporation that did not successfully plan ahead.

    Damn the tradition, it's only 13 years old. All these people who lost their jobs really got a raw deal though. It's a shame, I used to buy my mom little pieces of waterford crystal for Christmas when I was younger. Oh well.

    Just read the article. Apparently waterford crystal will still be made. Probably won't be the same though.

    I dated a girl in college who's dad was a Waterford sales rep. Judging from their house and his Benz, they paid pretty well, maybe too well?

    There is also a huge market for fake Waterford pieces that have been sold over the past 20 years or so. Some of these forgeries have been imported and sold to huge department store chains, who unknowingly sold it as actual Waterford pieces.
