Who said anything about giving up a source? The fact remains, if this story had any legs, it could stand on it's own. The reason it has lingered is because ESPN got hung out to twist in the wind, and they don't like it, so they took every opportunity since, to make innuendos as to the dishonesty of our coach. You do the same here and look just as stupid. Stating here that you believe the Herb story was true, despite our coach denying it(along with EVERYONE else involved) means exactly that. You can dance around it if you like, but this is not the UN. You are calling him a liar by posting this here and you will be challenged for it. Take offense if you like, but you are a long way from Ohio... Where did I say that or imply that? Not in this thread, or any other. That statement has as much validity as Herb's report - NONE. You should read more carefully so you don't get confused so easily. Contradict yourself much? We do absolutely invite debate from other teams, but you are a day late and a dollar short on this one. It's a pity you didn't bother to come here any time in the last MONTH to post your opinions that Herb was right, which actually make Miles to be a liar. You know, they same thing every analyst since has screamed repeatedly that he was if he took the job? Which I might add, they all said he would, all said he worked out a deal beforehand, and all of them are strangely mute today. They get it wrong, and finally just give up talking about it. By the response of other members to your post, I would say I got it just right.
All that matters is that he said it was a done deal. Not that it was as good as done, or that les rreally really really wanted the job. It was DONE. It was not.
I suppose everyone will have their own opinions. No matter what I say on this board is going to be torn apart. I still stand by the fact that I never called Miles' a liar. The fact that I think the Herbie story was once true, does NOT mean I think Miles' is a liar. He simply did what any respectable coach would have done (and there are not a lot of them around anymore). Contrary to what most of you believe, I have more respect now than before all this mess happened. Anyone mind explaining the "GEAUX" thing?
It's a cultural "thing." A lot of the Cajun-French names/words that phonetically make the hard "o" sound are spelled -eaux.
Well.. All the other cool gimmicks like putting a "t" in front of your school name were already taken.
Thanks. For some reason I guess I never associated French with Cajun. Learn something new everyday I suppose.
That must be that jealousy thing kicking in again. I honestly do not know where the "t" thing came into play.
