Is a Negatiger any less of a Tiger than a Sunshine Pumper?

Look up the definition of "fan", in the sense of a fan of a particular team, and you will find your answer. Your answer is actually yes.

A fan is devoted no matter what.

But...with that said, as many have mentioned, there are some who carry it a bit too far on both sides. IMO. Of course, in many's opinion...I'M one that carries it a bit too far on the positive side. Funny thing is, a year ago, it was the opposite. People thought I was being too critical. I didn't change the way I look at it...the times changed. At least here on the forum. Also, the target changed for most. I was against Crowton last season, and this season. Now, most "negatigers" are REALLY negaMILES...not negatigers.

Both sides do the same thing...but different. The negatigers get mad if a pumper hauls out Miles' record, but then the negatigers compile '08 and '09 to prove a "trend", when factually, '08 was far worse than '09 overall, and in conference. People are gonna use whatever argument better makes their case.

I'm an LSU fan. I also like Les Miles. I don't think he's a football genius. I think he's lucky a lot of times...but since his luck only really ran out once, I don't care. He wins. He recruits lights out. He isn't a dick. The players clearly love playing for him, and would run thru a firestorm for him...and in fact, are. LSU is the winningest SEC team this century, and the majority of those wins have come under his leadership. LSU is undefeated halfway thru the conference schedule, and without playing a non BCS team. LSU is in the top 10, and has improved on offense the last two weeks.

Granted, there have been reasons to complain, but at this point, ALL Tiger fans should just get on board and enjoy this ride. It's a fun season already, and it's gonna get even more fun. :geauxtige

Probably not...but I'm completely certain that they get far less joy from being a Tiger.

Consider their reaction after a win. For 6 games straight, rather that celebrate, the Megabitchers are the first ones to discount the victory (e.g. we played a weak team, player talent won in spite of coaching, it was dumb luck).

This sort of crap peaked in the two week span of the WV and UT games. It's still there after the Florida victory, but a bit muted. If the tigers continue to win, the bitching will die down even more...but for a hand full of miserable fans, they will never really be happy with Les, or anyone else.

 

Quite simply put, no. They are the very same passionate fans, they just have a different focus on life. Sunshine pumpers, glass half full, negatigers, glass half empty. Sunshine pumpers will generally accept that there are flaws with the coaching and team, and will generally tolerate good debate on those topics, but choose to focus mainly on the positives. Negatigers refuse to discuss anything positive and generally end all their topics with Miles must go. They focus soley on the negatives and think anyone who discusses the positives is a sunshine pumper and is blinded by their fandomship.

 

Free country man. If he wants to grace us with another half dozen negative posts saying the exact same thing in response to a simple question, that's his right. It's also my right to call BS on it.
