Is a Negatiger any less of a Tiger than a Sunshine Pumper?

This really drives me crazy. The ones that complain endlessly....

I mean, we play in the SEC. The land of big budgets, great coaches, top recruiting classes, loud stadiums and prime time TV slots.

Almost every team can beat you. Half the teams in our conference are ranked in the top 25 and 2-4 more will end up in the Top 50 by season's end. Competition is at an all-time high. You can get beat on any Saturday in the SEC.

And these idiots think we're supposed to win every game 35-0. We're supposed to win 10, or 11 games or more every year.

Guess what? The reason our conference is getting so much attention is because there are so many good teams with great players and excellent coaches. So many games are close and come down to the final minutes.

We're not going to be great every season, and we're not going to play great every Saturday.

We should be grateful that we're in the mix again this year. Enjoy the ride and quit complaining.

What I'm saying is that it's fine to disagree. I generally feel that I cull through dozens of garbage posts (on both sides of the argument) before getting to those few gems of logical well thought out ideas. But even if your post is stupid and comojetely contrary to what I believe, it doesn't make you any less of a fan. It just makes you wrong fir disagreeing with me. I'm not going to accuse you of being a closet Bama fan or of sabotaging recruiting because you post your thoughts, no matter how misguided I think they are.

The pumpers are more negative than the negatigers.

They're just incapable of understanding how many dumb coaching decisions Miles makes so all they do is bash other tiger fans for actually having an opinion about something.

Aside from a few dickheads like LSU SIU or whatever his name is, most of the fans these pumpers attack have legitimate concerns.

6-0 is awesome. But it isn't from brilliant coaching on Miles part. It's from recruiting the best athletes Louisiana has and a great defensive coordinator in Chavis.

i have no problem with peaceful dissention.

i have a problem with people that actually cheer against their team in hopes that losing will fulfill a desired outcome.

but who cares what i have a problem with??

however, i like that you tied in politics because it does play out somewhat in LSU fandom sometimes. for example when talking about president bush/obama (take your pick) it was common for opposing side to discount everything associated with said individual. to automatically discount any positive that the president was doing because they "were on the other side".

the fan base has this same bi-partisanship about it however in both worlds there does tend to be a reasonable middle, they're just becoming harder and harder to find because God forbid you vote republican and agree with something a democrat says or does (or vice versa).

it's almost the same with miles. the nega-tigers downplay the positives he brings and the pumpers defend every negative.

we're all purple and gold and just like there are different takes on what defines what is truly "american", i assume the answers will vary on what makes a true tiger.

the way i look at it is, i am right, and all who oppose me are wrong and possibly insane. ;)

Are you a creative writing major? Just wondering, because if you really think that the state of our country compares with LSU football, in reality you are either very young or very naïve.

But lets go there to humor you. Do you consider the new health care bill a win? The middle class will fund it. Do you consider the stimulus bill a win? The middle class is funding that too!

Lets take the Huey Long test. After Long was elected Kids had free textbooks, the state had new roads and there were more jobs. The standard of living was greatly improved. Has your standard of living improved with this president?

LSU football this season is Undefeated against quality competition. The Fans fund this, but get this, they can choose not to. That is not to mention this coach's record at LSU.

Figured that out, did you. He was an executive branch government official that most everyone in Louisiana knows something about. By that criterion He is more comparable with the President than a football coach.

As I anticipated, some reasonable enlightened folks actually understood the point and it soared over the heads of some.

For those that completely missed the point, IT'S A DAMN ANALOGY PEOPLE. The politics analogy was just that and nothing more. Like most people who are at one or the other extreme of the political spectrum (unlike us enlightened moderates), some of you are missing what I'm saying because you're only seeing/hearing what you want to see or hear that you feel you can attack. If what you took away from the table is that I'm saying LSU football is as important as the government of this country then you're mentality is beyond my reach.

To clarify, the point is that whether you fully support our coaching staff and think coach Miles is a genius, whether you're undecided or find them to by just adequate, or whether you find his game and clock management deficiencies apalling and want him gone, you are still a Tiger and should be afforded respect as one. Presuming you're not just a complete troll bent in chaos. I'm not talking about those who feel the need to boo, although I'm sure they are booing coaching decisions or actions and not the players directly. I'm not talking about those who don't truly want the team to succeed in spite of Miles' ineptitudes. I'm talking about completely dismissing and berating other fans because their opinions don't agree with yours.

I've been a Tiger for a lot longer than many of you and not nearly as long as some. I've been through a lot tougher times than we've had recently. I've been physically assaulted for wearing the purple and gold proudly in the wrong place during the Archer -Curley years.

Nobody can tell me I'm any less of a Tiger if I don't want to make sweet love to Les Miles.
