also the douche that said "if you cant win your conference you shouldnt play for a national championship".....
Elliot Porter. He was enrolled before it was decided he would be offered a grey. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/blog/dr_saturday/post/LSU-s-ship-has-two-men-too-many-so-Elliott-Port?urn=ncaaf,260264 That may be OUR perception but to others looking in, LSU/Miles and Bama/Saban are OFTEN mentioned in the same breath when it comes to recruiting practices. You guys be careful when you go pointing fingers. Hit a search on "oversigning" and see. Ten@10: Oversigning still an issue at LSU, Alabama | AJC College Sports Recruiting
The most you can sign in Feb. is 28. The most that can enroll in the fall: is 25. They can have back-counters.
That is pretty much the simply logic of it all. But oh the consternation by our SEC brethren of all colors. Coach Saban and Miles are the poster child, but most of the indignation is really much more about the success that has followed. Recent stats on oversigning are about what it has been. Ole Miss - 30.0 the barners - 28.3 Arkansas - 27.8 Bama - 26.8 South Carolina - 26.5
I'd like to know the time interval the above averages are generated from, and the source. If the averages incorporate recruiting classes prior to 2010, those classes would pollute the averages due to when the current cap was initially implemented. The Houston Nutt rule was adopted after Nutt oversigned to the tune of 37 signees for the 2009 class. The following year, the current cap was implemented. What are the averages by program for the 2010, 2011, and 2012 seasons?
It would definitely pollute a singular, repetitive, bias, thought. More importantly, it would also say that for the last ten years the barn is number one in the SEC at over signing. And attrition, man, are you kidding me? Enjoy the SEC process. The barn at 27.5 S. Carolina at 27.4 Miss St at 26.9 Arky at 26.7 Ole Miss at 26.3 League Ave. at 25.03 Bama at 24.9 Kentucky at 24.7 LSU at 24.5 Tenn at 24.4 Georgia at 23.2 Florida at 22.7 Vandy at 21.1 Here's a list of SEC players retained by %, from 2008-2011 Vandy 92.9 Georgia 82.0 Kentuck 81.6 LSU 81.0 Florida 81.0 Tenn 80.6 Bama 77.6 League average in % = 77.0 Arky 76.9 S Carolina 75.7 Miss St. 73.5 the barn 65.5 (only 74 of 113 signees survived) Ole Miss 63.9
"Dear high school player, please sit around for a year and don't play college football anywhere else and if I feel like fitting you in the 2013 class, I'll let you know." Basically the agreement Saban got this kid to sign before he wised up.
