I thought that 25 was the max number that any SEC team could sign per year, but looking at the Scout team rankings, Alabama is showing at 26 commits. Here's the link... Scout.com: Football Recruiting Clicking on Alabama, and all of their commits have a check for LOI --- Did Alabama really sign 26 this year and if so, how do they get by the "25 SEC Rule" or am I missing something?
Word is they screwed one kid about to send in his letter and called him and said all full. he ended up calling Arkansas to see if they had a spot for him they did. Apparently he is NONE to happy. Again just what I read so take it for what it is worth. But apparently Bama got into a Jam and kicked a committed kid. Sorry all full up.
We offered him a full scholarship after the 1st semester and didn't do it at the alter. Big difference...
My understanding was that Miller was on campus and ready to enroll when he and his parents were told he would have to wait until the fall semester for his scholly to kick in? If I am mistaken then I apologize
Fellow namesake not even in the same atmosphere. The poor kid showed up to his ceremony wearing a bama hat.... Didnt even take a visit to another program. NOT one his commitment was so strong. Commentary: Chizik's classiness shows up Saban | The Montgomery Advertiser | montgomeryadvertiser.com This is an article on Bama's tactics.
Try to be fair, in even matters of the heart. I hate all greyshirts based on the numbers game. Have some toleration for it, in case of sever injury or just not a very highly rated player. Philon could play before long, inspite of injury and was totally committed to Bama through the recruitment. Philon was mishandled, based on what I've read and heard. Take the longtime commitment. Let either Kirven or Tomlinson know, we just ran out of room. To do otherwise is a mistake, if it wasn't clear about the greyshirt from the start. This topic has gotten a lot of play on Bama threads. Most feel very strong that Philon was mishandled, even if told a few weeks ago. I'm sure he didn't wake up yesterday morning, thinking two great DL's would switch and join the Tide. We saw the disappointment. This really is a very good player and didn't need a greyshirt plan to begin with. Unless something says otherwise, this one was just a boatload of crapola.
I agree. Once he leaves Bama fans hanging (and he will), that statue will fall faster than Saddam's did in Baghdad.
