Sort of but not really. Yes Those whose MOS starts with a 1 are very different from the rest of the group. That doesn't mean the "others" are not capable or qualified to get the job done. See when an office puke joins the service, IT guy, dental hygenist, gas pumper, medic, legal assistant..... they all start in BT where they must qualify on the range to make it out. They also learn how to fire the AT4 which is a shoulder fired anti tank rocket. They throw a hand grenade (the real ones that really go boom not just a rock). The run the obstacle course, confidence course, bayonet course and all sorts of other fun crap that you would think they would never do. This is because one day, if God is asleep and the sh!t really gets that bad they may have to actually fight. Just sayin.
There's a difference between a Joe who knows how to shoot a rifle and a Joe who's primary job is to employ with that rifle and engage bad guys. Lots (thousands) of US combatants still in Iraq. And that's a good thing. :thumb:
Some of these soldiers were in combat brigades two weeks ago. They just changed the name and/or mission of the unit. Unit insignia come on velcro now for a number of reasons.
Well, it doubles the price of insignia. I need to see if the government patch contractor is on NASDAQ . . .
