It doesn't matter the religion. Assholes can cherry pick and twist any part of religious text to suit their own needs. The Klan used the Christian Bible to justify their actions. Puritans burned people at the stake and they used the Christian Bible to justify their actions. The difference is the level of education. People in that area of the world have never read the Koran for themselves. They're at the mercy of others to tell them what it says and the meaning. If you repeat it enough, people will believe it no matter how obscene or ridiculous it is. You just have to keep repeating it. You can pull out the Bible right now and find religious justification for stoning your wife or daughter. We don't do that though because we're far more educated as a society and less tolerant of terrible acts of violence.

Show me the Bible verse for stoning your wife.

I mean. I can tell you what Jesus said about it.

 

A lot of people who compare the two books rarely understand either of them.

The Old Testament was written at a time where that was the societal law. Before god. Before Jesus. See the law of Moses.

Moo-hammed was a warmonger. The differences in both their construction, historical time frames, evolution and practice are vast.
