Re: Iowa's Ferentz offered Michigan Job well he's right about that michigan blog getting the carr retirement correct but at this point it's still just rumor. it'll be nice if it gets confirmed by a major source because it will at least help our fanbase concentrate on the seccg, but i wouldn't put much stock into it right now.
Re: Iowa's Ferentz offered Michigan Job Interesting. I thought Ferentz was going to be the next college coach to join the NFL ranks, but he has stayed pat on his stance that he considers himself a "college man" and that he had no intentions of ever joining the NFL....Guess he didn't lie, I just didn't expect him to leave Iowa. But it makes sense. Ferentz has done a lot with little to offer recruits from a "location" standpoint....Not a whole helluva lot to do up at Iowa, and he's made comments that he's had to sell the school dispite the shortcomings of other programs' locations.
Re: Iowa's Ferentz offered Michigan Job I hope it is true. Keep your fingers cross that it is and that Ferentz accepts.
Let's see. Miles has a 32-6 record (and could be 34-6 and an SEC championship by season's end) and you don't think he is maximizing his talent huh? How do you define maximizing talent - never losing a game? Miles is one of the top coaches in the nation, and it never ceases to amaze me that some people just don't seem to get it. I would be very careful what I wish for if I were you; you might get it.
Last time I looked Les Miles was the Coach of the LSU tigers. Last time I looked he had one hell of a win record in 3 years here. Truly some people just don't get it.
Yep...and its more likely a new coach goes backwards than forwards. That's what happens when you start out so high to begin with. These people crying for a new coach need to seriously explain what their expectations are....and I will tell them they are near impossible. A replacement would have slim to no chance to improve upon what Miles in currently doing here at LSU. He would be gone in 2-3 years and we would be right back where we are now....probably wishing we had CLM back.
Honestly, If UM offers Miles the job (he will accept) what will your first post on the issue look like? will you be hanging on the planes wings still begging? I know miles likes LSU and many fans like miles (including me) But I understand that if UM calls he will leave and I dont blame him, That is is home.
Miles is the first LSU coach to have double-digit win totals in his first 3 seasons. Miles is the first LSU coach to have defeated 'Bama, Florida AND Auburn ALL in the same season...and he's done it TWICE in 3 years. Saban didn't "maximize LSU's talent" when he lost 3 games the year RIGHT after winning a National title, now did he??? OR how about when he lost 5 games the year BEFORE winning the National title??? When people like you comment on their perception of Miles NOT "maximizing LSU's talent", I don't think ANY of you realize how talented the 11 OTHER teams in the SEC actually are! People like you are blinded by what you see right in front of you and you automatically feel that every other program in America simply doesn't hold a candle to LSU. Well, you're WRONG! College football in the 2000's is a LOT different than college football 10, 20 and 30 years ago in which your "powerhouse" teams remained powerhouses because there weren't restrictions on how many scholarships you could give out. Teams would "stock pile" blue chip recruit after blue chip recruit and keep them ALL on their roster so no one else could have them. Not any more... Today's college game is more level. 85 scholarships is all you get and that forces players to decide to go elsewhere because there weren't enough scholarships at the school that they may have originally wanted to attend.
