I expected the "home girl" to do well but surprised Romney is so low.

Romney didn't campaign in Iowa. A lot of locals considered that a slight. Buh Bye to everybody else who came in below Ron Paul.

You missed Rick Perry who was a write-in candidate. He got over 700 votes and bested Romney. He may be the big winner in view of the fact that he was not even an official candidate until today. A very strong showing for someone who did not campaign.

Pawlenty needed to be in the top 3 and he did. While he may have to change his strategy, he is still in it as are Romney and obviously Perry, neither of whom campaigned. Paul does well in straw votes because he busses his supporters in, but he does poorly when it counts.

A perfect storm is brewing for Paul. The GOP old dogs are running scared.

Not yet but it could. Paul needs the economy and markets to crash for him to have any chance. He needs voters to only focus on spending and ignore is other stances.

Do you guys really see anyone there that can beat the big "O?"

    I find the field disheartening.

In evaluating candidates, I always ask, "How do they stack up to Putin." None of these do.

    Pawlenty is now OUT.

    Perry is now IN.

I just hope two of the candidates will form a good Pres/VP combo as the country can't afford another four years of this administration.

It is only a matter of time before mainstream starts to come over on all stances. He is the only man on the stage with any type of honesty and integrity.

I'm also glad Perry is coming in. He will dilute the votes for Bachmann and Romney.
