Great interview. These two things stick out: Not many know that he was and is the only OL to win this award. Same with the Epilepsy. A good friend of mine was the coach that recruited Alan to LSU, Alan spent 4 years at John Curtis before heading to Tx. His Sr. year he blocked for a pair of 1,000-yard rushers in high school.
