    the windbag Condon's show today.

Should a convicted felon's number be retired?

Billy Cannon is the only person who's number is retired at Tiger Stadium, he is a convicted felon. Should his number be retired?

and also, why is he the only one retired? Shouldnt Bert Jones and Y.A. Tittle's number be retired? What about Dalton Hilliard, or Jerry Stovall?

    thoughts?

personally i really dont care about the felon part unless its like O.J. or something. and i honestly believe that other numbers should be retired at Tiger Stadium.

he paid his debts to society.

only Heisman winners get their numbers retired Although I think a case can be made for a defender that sweeps the awards at his position (Dorsey)

Why don't you edit that teaser title so people can decide whether to read this thread or not. I wouldn't have bothered read this thread if it was titled "Condon disrespects Billy Cannon."

not really worried about condon thinks, just thought the topic was interesting. you have to forgive me i live in Central Louisiana and i have to stream 1210 to listen to any LSU stuff. still would like to know what everyone thinks about numbers being retired at Tiger Stadium.

So nutriaitch, you dont think Y.A. Tittle's number should be retired?

a little too far before my time to really comment on him one way or another.

But I don't like some teams that go out and retire every player that has a better than average career.

Retired numbers should be for those rare athletes that deserve to be remembered for all-time. Getting your number retired should be a very difficult thing to acheive, making it a truly elite group.

yeah i agree with you on that point. i just think there are legends who should be considered. you cant just have 1 number retired can you?

also, click the link for Y.A. i think he deserves it. and he was before my time also, way before my time.

    USC should un-retire Simpson's number.

What about Casanova? It seems like if anyone was incredibly special individually, other than winning the Heisman or a MNC, he was it for LSU

Instead of retiring numbers, they should reserve numbers for big play guys, kinda how Michigan has #1.

#3 should go to a good RB
    #13 for a good QB
    #37 to a good DB
    # 11 & #7 to LBs

I don't like retiring numbers, but this would be kinda cool.
