Interestingly, LSU was discussed more than any other team, btw.

    Transcript is found here:
Live chat: BCS Bash - College Football Nation Blog - ESPN

Chris Low, Mark Schlabach, Ted Miller, Andrea Adelson in the chat.

FYI: For those not up on the lingo, non-AQ refers to non-automatic qualifier, i.e., Boise State and TCU.

    Chris Low:
"Going 11-1 in the SEC and beating five ranked teams is usually going to trump going 12-0 in one of the non-BCS conferences in the minds of most voters. Plus, there's a respect factor there for making it through the SEC with only one loss that carries a lot of weight (fairly or unfairly)"

    Chris Low:
"How's the grass out in Glendale?"

    Chris Low:
"Only loss was by a touchdown to then No. 1 Auburn on the road. "

    Ted Miller:
"I think if you have 2 undefeated non-AQ, and a 1-loss SEC, you have an SEC-non-AQ final... folks would rather see that..."

    Chris Low:
"Yep, going to be hard to sell a non-AQ vs. a non-AQ"

    Andrea Adelson:
"If my math is correct, the avg margin of victory for Boise State over Nevada in the last 3 years is about 6 points. "

    Chris Low:
"Still would love to see Boise vs. an SEC team"

    Mark Schlabach:
"Chris: you'll get to see Boise against an SEC team in Atlanta next season."

    Chris Low:
"Any way we can get the Mad Hatter out to Boise? Wonder what that blue grass would taste like?"

    Ted Miller:
"an interesting coaching matchup.... Madness vs. the Scientist."

    Chris Low:
"Miles has almost become a cult hero."

    Ted Miller:
"it if keeps happening, again and again, it's more than luck... "

    Andrea Adelson:
"As he should be. Watching his games is like watching a car wreck. You just cannot turn away, no matter the score."

    Chris Low:
"But honestly, his players like him and play hard for him and really defended him earlier this season when he was catching so much heat"

So there is still plenty of talk that with Auburn losing twice (and maybe even once although I tend to doubt it) and Oregon losing a game, that a 1 loss LSU would play the higher BCS team out of Boise State and TCU.

Only way we can sneak in is if Arizona beats Oregon and auburn loses one of final two. One thing I'm sure of, Boise v tcu will not be the ncg. Voters won't allow it. The wrinkle is normally even with one loss, never fall below us due to head to head. However, voters may be looking to keep auburn out because of cam and pfp.

The voters are hoping for a reason to keep AU out, but until they lose they have no logical reasoning.

I said it before and I will say it again, this upcoming weekend could be very interesting and could change the landscape of the entire BCS as well as the pecking order of the SECw. Watch to see what happens should Bama beat AU and LSU beat Ark. Sit back and enjoy the ride people this could get fun.

Obviously Oregon could lose to Oregon State as well (I am sure you meant either/or).

But how exactly do the voters insure that we don't have a Boise State/TCU matchup? Do they get together somewhere in a nuclear bomb shelter and plot all this stuff out? I am not in disagreement that the voters may very well respond in this manner, I just question the logistics.

    Computer Polls, voting patterns, etc.....

It's a mess if it comes to that kind of decision making.

Assuming: LSU wins, Boise St and TCU win out

If Oregon and Auburn loses, I think LSU gets in against Boise St(based on being higher ranked than TCU because they will win @Nevada and get a boost)

If only 1 loses, I think Boise St. gets the nod over us.

If 3 of the 5 lose, TCU will get in.

I agree with the "undefined" factors that were mentioned above. Voters will want to keep Auburn out because of the Cam situation. Voters will not want both TCU and Boise St in at the same time. The other problem is that voters may favor the Big 10 too highly, but I'm not sure they would jump us because @Arkansas would be too good of a win to have someone jump us.

If nobody loses we go to the Sugar Bowl. And that's what's going to happen.

Wisconsin plays a Northwestern team at home that has no QB (who was their best player before the season ending injury).

We play a near top 10 Arkansas on the road.

    There's no contest.

Of course Wisconsin could win 83-21 again. They seem to pride themselves in that kind of thing.
