Not going into detail about who it is, but a fairly recent starter who is in the EBRPS System...

He talked about the tradition of going out on the town and breaking curfew after the last 2-a-days practice. He said that the most important rule that they followed was that the players would have each others' backs, not jumping in a fight, but keeping teammates out of trouble like a fight. He said that was the biggest issue of the night... The tradition of keeping each other out of trouble broke down and we see what ensued.

So not only was there a lack of sense and judgement by Jefferson and Johns, but also by their teammates who should have kept them out of trouble.

I blame the stupid move of pulling the dude out the truck. If it wasn't for that one move none of the other stuff would have happened. Jj had been a model student. He was soft spoken and loved his tigers. He worked hard and did the best he could. For this to happen to him really sucks. I hate to see the kids life all fricked up. If only they wouldn't have opened that truck door. I bet it was a younger underclassman that opened the door of the truck. The report on wwl says an lsu player opened the truck door and pulled the guy out. I want to know who that guy that opened the door was.

    excuse me....

allegedly pulled someone out of the truck. we know there was a fight, we know players were involved, but i'm not convinced the victims were just sitting there reading their bibles.

and no, i am not excusing the behavior. i'm saying lets not assume that the murderous mob scenario is the truth either. i stood up for jj because he said he was innocent and i wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. but there are a lot of the parts of this story that still do not make sense. lets see what else shakes out legally before we accept what has been reported, which is largely one sided and has been spouted off time and again by the attorney for the "victims", as gospel.

I understand Les' predicament but why is "innocent until proven guilty" suspended in cases like these?

heres my take! weve established the fact that mr lowery has had a complaint filed against him with br police am i correct? we also know mr jeffersons track record at lsu is outstanding as a student athlete correct?we have bar employees who say lowery threw the first punch correct?and mr lowery has been kicked out several times correct? is lowery a bouncer? thats another important issue here because if he is it looks worse for him! why? because bouncers become bouncers for one effing reason and one reason alone, to fight!! any way this issue really stinks because baton rouge police look really stupid here! why? because some body got hurt? well people forget how physically powerful and athletically superior fb players are! these lsu kids were allll stars in high school! they have tremendous natural physicall power and joe bar shmucks who are a little liquored up tend to forget that! if you pick a fistfight with a major college football player your going to get hurt bad!!! you may be bigger but your not on a physical level with that player! he can out run you is probably stronger and has more lung power and stamina than you do! hes a tremendous athlete especially if hes at lsu.the police should understand that and not come down on jj to hard! because about 3 good punches from a kid his size could easily put someone in the hospital. he clearly was provoked and his track record of being a well behaved student didnt even matter to the investigators nor did lowerys track record of behavior either and that SUXXXX!

I've often found it amazing how someone can be moving normally through life, then something happens, and in a brief moment, perhaps just a few seconds, that person's world has been completely changed.

Because that hackneyed and over used phrase is a lynch pin our Legal system. It is not reality based. For example, if you kick LaSalle's azz, you are clearly guilty of that, whether or not the case gets to courts or not. But you are innocent within the legal system until it is proven. Reality based.
