Alleva's obviously never set foot in the student section if the thinks that us standing (out of necessity) is "spreading out."

But from what I've seen, games have definitely become more of a social event than something for hardcore football fans. I've seen more freakin sorority girls in the student section this year than ever (not that there's anything wrong with that ), and I know the vast majority aren't football fans, it's just another Greek event.

My very first game in Tiger Stadium was as a freshman in '97 and Florida came in ranked #1 after the '96 NC. One of the most amazing experiences ever after the upset, and I've been hooked ever since.

For every game this season I had at the very least a seat and a half. If you don't sit in the lowest section, there is no shortage of seating.

For the OOC games, I'd agree. I didn't get to go to Georgia, but Bama was really packed.

Wow I am gettin old. I forgot about the getting in with student ID.

Myself and a few buddies used to drive up from Nicholls State and some of our freinds who went to LSU would get IDs from others not going to the game. As students ourselves we didn't have a lot of cash. We would party at Sports and Fred's then walk over to the stadium for tailgating and go into the game on the ID cards no questions asked.
We got a few looks sometimes but for the most part no problems. It was great watching in the student section and most everyone was into the games we attended. Lots of people I knew in school back then went because they loved football and the atmosphere of tiger stadium along with the ease and convience of just showing ID to get in game. I don't some would have gone under the current systems.

After the game back to Sports and Freds for more festivities.

Hodson showed up one night after a losing game and they were ribbing him hard but I don't think he cared. He showed up with a knockout lady on his arm.

i think a big issue was the split ticket deal for the freshman this year. sold 4 game sets at half the price, guess the guys stuck with the later games thought they weren't taking that big a cut by not going. also, having more day games had to hurt a little bit not to mention it was cold for half the games this year it seems. i went to all of them, but i can see why other wouldn't

    Yes....This is huge for me!

    1) I could not stand thinking that the largest crowd in TS ended in a loss.

    2) I can go back to telling everyone that comments on my framed and matted print of the Florida game from last year that it was the largest crowd in the history of TS...and we won!

Hey I graduated from LSU in engineering and I attended every home game while I was at LSU. Me and my group of friends always attended at least one road game a year as well. The only SEC stadiums I have not been to is Arkansas and South Carolina. I think the problem is that freshman can't attend every game. They have to choose 3 or 4 games.

True, I guess I should have specified out of state students who are already football fans.

I don't think it would occur over just ANY 8 year time span. I'll probably remember this season pretty clearly in 8 years. It's more about the age. I was 13 in 1994, and about the only thing football related I can remember from that year is that the Cowboys won the Super Bowl. I guess it would be different if I had actually gone to games. I would remember those for sure, but I didn't, so I don't.
