The problem I had with the law was the determination thats left up to law enforcement. Reasonable suspicion on a regular and legitimate traffic stop I have no problem with. However, its going to hard to prove for or against someone saying you stopped me because Im hispanic.

If Palin said that then I agree with her probably for the first and last time ever. The current system can handle future immigration because under my plan the border would be so secure that it will eliminate 95% of illegal migration.

In reality it would have worked if there was a clause that said states are not allowed to shore up their budgets with this money and the money had to be administered by an independent body towards infrastructure and other job-related programs. Another stimulus just isnt going to happen. They should just pass the jobless benefits package and forget about another stimulus. After the stimulus, I would cut taxes.

I cant say I disagree here.

Just for a bit of history,
You are correct. Democrats were very much the conservatives of the day in the mid 1800's and the Republican partey emerged as a very liberal group for its day. It's also worth noting that the Democratic party at its beginning and until around the great depression was what we would call conservative today. While the names did not change, its seems the two major parties of the day effectively flip flopped on their general stance. A clearer picture of what actually happened can be read in the link.

I just glanced through the piece but enough to know the difference between then and now: They never tried to jam their plans up our collective asses as the 3 Amigos are trying to do in their limited time remaining.

Abuse by authorities is possible when any law is enforced by humans. But if the law is written the same, wouldn't logic tell you that it is more likely to be discriminatory coming from federal agents who are expressly tasked to find illegals and nothing else? What reason does the border patrol have to stop anyone other than checking their status? It seems the possibility of profiling is far greater with feds.

And Obama may have objected on these grounds but he is not suing on these grounds. Shouldn't he instead be more concerned with shutting down the border?
But there wasn't. So theory is different from reality, and in reality, it didn't work. Joe's proclamations notwithstanding.
I hope not but I have seen a lot of things happen this year that should not.
    ...and spending.

    Funny thread here...
How about this, I am against anyone or any party who supports some of the ridicules policies of the left today.
This is what is wrong with this country, in some cases people vote for people based on everything other than policy.
I don't care who you are just where you stand.

The topic here is a great reason why we need a legitimate third party. I mean look at the last couple of elections. I know I voted for the lesser of two evils. It really is a shame that non of the jack a$$es can put up a good choice. It seems you either get a pathological lair or an idiot. For the last eight years we had the latter, now I feel we are blessed with both.

I agree. Republicans and Democrats are all terrible. Each group takes turns being the more terrible party.
