We got these online two weeks ago, as soon as it was determined Mrs. Fishette and the little fishies were coming. $55 a pop. Paid $4 ea for a bus ride from here where I'm working to the game, and $4 ea to get back. Paid $25 for a camo Cubs hat, plus $15 ea for the little fishies a hat apiece. Paid $4 for a sad little hot dog. Paid $4 for a soft drink, or "pop" if you're local. $6.75 a beer, even if it was Old Style! Seeing my first game at Wrigley? Priceless! Although I would have pitched in a little extra to have the Cubs advance a runner from 3rd with less than two outs. Both LSU boys knew how to bunt, but never came up at the right time. No other Cub knew how to hit a fly deep enough to score the runner, nor bunt. They had two innings in a row with that situation, and couldn't execute it either time. :cuss:
depends on who is playing. I paid $72 for Rangers vs Yankees tix this sept 11. Tix are between home and 3B. I believe they are 30 rows up near the batting circle. I paid $50 for Astros vs Phillies tix in the same section (different stadium, duh) for a game on april 11 of this year.
And the ivy was magnificent. Very good time of year to witness the ivy. To be honest, I've been pleasantly surprised at the landscapes and the green of the grass around here. The daylilies were blooming before mine were back home, and the grass in most yards is exquisite. Here in the suburbs where I'm working, it's actually a nice place. And there are a lot of "green space" areas, and public parks. I've even found some fishing places...just haven't found time to fish.
Oh, one other thing. The guy from Biggest Loser, Micheal? The one who weighed like 500lbs at the beginning of last season? He was there too...sitting two seats behind us. My wife has a picture of her and him, but I, er, declined. He looked good though. Probably about 275 lbs, but he's pretty tall. Pretty sure he's ghey though. He had some "friend" with him.
I appreciate the info guys. I would love to go some day. I have had opportunities to go to Rangers games while here in Wichita Falls, but I always had conflicts. Rich, change that awesome avatar! I cannot concentrate on what you are posting! Fish, that sounds like one helluva memory you just made for you and your family. I am a bit jealous :thumb: I've never been a true MLB fan, but if I was, I guess it would be between the cubbies and astros. I have some fond memories of both.
I guess in this instance, I woulda been strictly a cub's fan! I can't imagine going to Wrigley and not cheering for them. I don't know why, but that stadium, the old Alex Box, and Rosenblatt, all seemed to evoke a similar emotion with me. Not so much for the Astrodome.
Then, I guess, you couldn't name the starting nine in 1968 (the year of el foldo)...seven of whom played in the all star game at the same time. The all stars were: Fergie Jenkins....pitcher Ernie Banks...first base Glenn Beckert.....second Don Kessinger...short Ron Santo....third Randy Huntley....catcher Billy Williams.....outfield Gene Hickmann was one of the non star outfielders and I can't for the life of me remember the last player. Anyone know the last outfielder? It wasn't Rick Monday. Ron Swoboda are you lurking out there?.
Beautiful shot of Wrigley, definitely the park on my number 2 list of baseball parks i must watch a game in before i die. Number 1 would of course be Fenway, which i have been to, but not during baseball season.
