Lott didnt play both ways when they played Homewood. I was at the game and watched him close because he had just committed to us. I dont know about their other games but my daughter is a Homewood cheerleader and I went to every Homewood game this year. You are right though, he isnt a good defensive end. Ross wore him out.

Hey, dont get me wrong. I dont know crap about judging talent but I wasnt impressed with Lott. My daughter though he was a hunk though when I told her he was going to LSU. :hihi:

No way was he the best player at Briarwood. That honor goes to one Andy Davis who does play both ways. He was all over the field making plays and had Homewood fans gasping everytime he got near the ball which was almost every play.

yes this is true, but they stated that J.D. was a better athlete. Or maybe I am making all of this up, because I was quite drunk at the time, so maybe I dreamed it up. Basically the jist of the convo was that LSU was getting a good player.

    Joe McKnight
    Safety
    River Ridge (LA)
    John Curtis
    Height:
    5-foot-11

    Weight:
    180 pounds

    40-yard dash:
    4.6 seconds

They have him listed as a safety but he played offense, shagged punts and kicks also. He played some for Evangel after the hurricane but ended up back at John Curtis. From the way some of the folks talked he is a really gifted athlete.

You are right. Louisiana did not produce a lot of talent this year. That was no big secret. I think the state will be loaded next year. That could shape up to be a recruiting class to look forward to.

McKnight will be a WR or CB probably at the next level. Or a little of both, but the 4.6 doesn't tell the story, you can see on film that no one can catch him, plus he is a track star. He'll be a Reggie Bush/Skyler Green type returner though.
