It's sad to hear all the talk about CLM being a bum because of the Arky loss on Friday.

He's not. He's done an excellent job of keeping this team in contention for an SEC title despite its being led by a below average QB and acquiring a rash of devastating injuries.

The DLine can't dominate up front because Dorsey can't get a push and Favorite just looks slow. Tyson Jackson's NFL prospects have plummeted due to his subpar year. And Kirston Pittman has been steady, but not consistently dominant. All the other DL guys are wet behind the ears. If your DLine can't dominate, your D is going to struggle, as LSU's has.

The offense is limited by Matt Flynn, who makes good decisions only half the time and has a weak arm. Rumor has it he's having shoulder trouble, but, man, there is no excuse for that sad attempt at a Hail Mary at the end of regulation! 15 yards short! :nope:

Anyway, I like Les. I hope he stays, wins the SEC Championship on Saturday, and has better luck in coming years. It does take luck to finish #1, you know. Just because Marvin Harrison and Dwight Freeney got injured and the Colts probably won't repeat doesn't make Tony Dungy a bad coach.

It's not just about the loss yesterday. It is about the living on the edge mentality and the poor gameplanning and lack of adjustments. It's about the apparent clulessness he demonstates on the sideline. Luckily for him he has an NFL farm team that has been able to overcome a lot of it because they are just that much better that the guys across from them.

Tyson Jackson's draft stock hasn't plummeted one bit. He is right where he is supposed to be. NFL scouts don't look just at the stats. Jackson covers tight ends 30 yards down the field. He plug wholes and forces the play inside. He blows up blockers and opens the lanes for his teammates. and When asked, he can get to the quarterback. We haven't asked him to speed rush the QB much this year. But he has done what what asked of him. It's not his fault they asked him to do things that do not show up in the box score.

I'll give you Dorsey being hurt, but hell most teams still double teamed him and couldn't stop him.

You are 100% correct on Flynn, but it's not like Miles had to leave him in the game. RP is a better player, and though he may not be ready to take control, he could not have done worse in a lot of those Flynn misfire situations.

All in all, I doubt you will find a person that doesn't think Miles has done some good things, he is just consistently questionable in everything he does on gameday.

Anytime you have as many 2nd-half comebacks as we did, I think you lose ground on your arguement that Miles and staff showed "lack of adjustments".

You can argue that the gameplan heading into many of of games was subpar, but we've been a 2nd half team for much of the 2nd half of the season. ...it was our original gameplanning that got us in jams, not the lack of adjustments.

Uhhh yeah. Show me an adjustment that won one of those games. I can't find one. What I can find is a bunch of situations where we simply wore those teams down because we were better. Or somebody just stepped up and made a big play that pulled it out.

Last year was the same way. The difference was it was usually the same guy winning the game for us then. Jamarcus could win the game from 80 yards away or from a yard out. This year it has been more spread out.

Again, he has to get some credit (Miles), but it not like he has ever outcoached anybody, he just has always had the better team.

Again, the lack of adjustments on DEFENSE lost us this game. The team lost together, but we wouldn't have stopped Arkansas if we had gone into 25 overtimes.

And you can try to blame Flynn all you want, but in the end Flynn and the offense handed the D a touchdown lead in double OT and we couldn't stop them on 4th and 10 in Tiger Stadium with a NC possibly on the line. THAT'S IT!

Flynn's had an average year and was banged up for a nice part of the year. He had ZERO turnovers Friday and contributed 4 TDs (three passing and 1 running). He actually had 6 TDs, but we had Hester's bomb called back and his run called back because of a joke of a timeout). He wasn't too hot in the 1st half, but he ultimately did his job. The same thing goes for the receivers.

And RP probably would get in more games if he could behave and learn how to get off a play before getting six delay of game penalties. He's got great potential. But right now, that's all it is.

And if Flynn has really limited our offense, why couldn't we sniff a TD last year against Auburn when we had the #1 pick in the NFL Draft at QB, two first round NFL receivers (Bowe, Davis), another future one (Doucet) and basically the same set of backs. Why couldn't we put up more points on Florida? Why did it take a near-miracle for us to win at Tennessee when they didn't even have their starting QB? Why did Ole Miss basically have us beat because we couldn't score but then blew it inside Tiger Stadium? We also needed Nutt to have a major brain fart in trying to pass on us instead of running when we couldn't stop them until they passed. And you can't blame it on Jimbo, because the offense this year is very similar.

The bottom line is that 28 points should win the game for your team every time when you are at home.

Damn, you hit a grandslam, best post of the day but I'm not sure about Flynn limiting offense.
I'll say it once again, 4th and 10!
And its no coincidence we lost 2 games in OT, we can't stop anyone from scoring in the red zone.

As far as TC knocking Flynn, Flynn is a first year starter with young wr's.
I think Flynn and the offense has had a great year matter of fact coming into the season I thought the defense would be our strong point and the offense would be suspect but it turned out to be the other way around.

TC's analogy about the Colts don't hold water here, its not the same.
The Colts have had trouble with their offense where LSU has had to outscore everyone because of a lack of defense.

The defense was the reason for the loss and Flynn is a subpar QB, so lets not act like he is the greatest you have seen at LSU. Be honest and quit taking up for this kid so much. He has had some great moments and good decision making, but you are only as good as your last throw and you see where that ended up.

You did fine until you got to this part. Jimbo was the problem all these years, as Crowton has proved that. Jimbo lost us the Auburn game and cost us a national championship more than likely.

We score no less than 28 points in any one game this season. That's pretty damn good in my book.
