Not sure about that... tOSU has 18th ranked Wisc and 15th ranked Iowa, both on the road... Oregon has #17 Arizona at home and #24 Oregon State away.... I guess one could argue the other teams the two teams will play... USC, UCLA and Cal for Oregon versus Purdue, PSU and Michigan for tOSU... but to me those teams are interchangable this year. The Big Ten is as deep as it's been in years, with a lot of senior leadership at qb.... most years you might have an argument about the depth in the Big Ten... this isn't one of them. We knew Penn State would be lucky to finish in the upper half of the conference this year... now they'll be lucky to get bowl eligible.
I can answer that. its finals week for The Ohio State. The same week as the SECCG..I know couse I am going there now LOL. tOSU is on the quarter system..Ohio State will change to semesters in 2012.....
Obviously a lot of things have to play out. Michigan could easily have 4 losses and an afterthought in the Ben 10. The perception is that USC, UCLA and Cal would be "much better" competition than those 3 teams OSU plays. The biggest thing is Oregon playing Oregon State while Ohio State sits idle to end the season.
True on Michigan this year. Arizona got their lofty ranking when we spotted them 21 points (blocked punt, pick6, and they ran back a kick off). Although we came back to tie it from down 27-7, it's hard to spot teams at home 21 point and still win. We'd LOVE to play them one more time. Oregon's road home is easier if one compares the ranked teams they will play. My guess is both will have a loss before it's over and this will be a moot point.
Keep in mind peeps, things will happen that you will not see coming, nor will anyone else. Jaw-dropping upsets will come out of nowhere. One of the major contenders may get bit by the injury bug. Every one of the Top 12 in this "mock BCS" has at least one very tough game left on thier schedule (even Boise State, which has to face a stout and under-rated Nevada on the road late in the season). I always root for absolute chaos in the BCS, because I'm a playoff guy and I want the BCS exposed as the complete, archaic joke that I think it is. As long as LSU is not involved, I'm a BCS hater. I always want the year to end with an 18-car pileup of undefeated powers at the top of the standings and for an obvious titan to get snubbed. Unfortunately, it's only happened once; 2004. Every other year, things have, more or less, sorted themselves out. About the only variable that's changed from previous years; you can't just pat the non-AQ teams (Boise State, TCU, Utah) on the head and laugh them away; they started the season too highly ranked and the Mountain West is arguably stronger than the Big East and ACC. They will be a factor. The SEC may be down this year, but I just can't foresee a scenario where the undefeated SEC champion doesn't play for the national title. I CAN foresee a scenario where a one-loss SEC champion is denied in favor of two unbeatens from other leagues, but a lot would have to happen and there would have to be at least two unbeatens. Gonna be interesting to watch this unfold.
If lsu goes undefeated do you think the media will embrace the hat and push for lsu to play for a nc simply for the hype they can play up or will they shun the lucky tigers because they won't eat the crow that is served to them after they vilified him and made him the butt of their jokes. The media has no bearing on the numbers with the computers but coaches are human and the media has influence on them too. I don't see lsu getting the nod over an undefeated Ohio state or neb ,or. or even their new love affair Boise state
I'm with Jetstorm. The more chaos in the BCS, the better. I wouldn't mind 'ol Les blowing a call each game and still winning. Why not have some fun with this, eh? It's not like Les doesn't have... let's say... a certain entertainment value that will appeal to the masses come bowl time. Other than a couple of non-BCS schools, it's difficult at this point to see any school running the table. These are hardly flawless teams we're talking about... so LSU is a tad flawed on offense, so what? Obviously, you don't have to be pretty to get in this dance.
I used to have this opinion. But Chaos is exactly what the BCS committee wants. They know that all it does is add that much more allure to a sport that is already wildly popular. Nobody is going to boycott watching college football because of a silly BCS system that never seems to get it right. If it got it right all the time, it would be boring. Boring is not good for TV, last time I checked.
