2/3 subjective maybe even 3/4, as even the computer polls have to start somewhere with ranking the teams agree on the uneducated voters Imagine coaches with all that they have to do, and then having take time to rank the 25 best teams. they probably didn't know LSU dominated the game, but caught The Les Miles fiasco there at the end and the perception is we "lucked out" another win. Thus LSU stayed at #9.
High computer polls and high Coaches poll ranking. Ohio State and Oregon are getting killed in the early stages of the computer polls. That will all change in the coming weeks. By year's end, if Ohio State, Oregon, TCU and Boise State all remained undefeated, Oregon and Ohio State would finish ahead of TCU and Boise St in the computer polls.
LSU is #8 in Massey, but then they added a new column that simply says "BCS ranking". That is new. We are actually #3 in that poll.
so what happens after next week? does our SoS take a hit after playing mcneese state? or does that not factor into BCS anymore?
It will hurt a lot. There isn't a separate SOS component in the BCS like there used to be back in the early days, but the computer polls still factor it in.
i suppose we will be able to make up for it down the road with bama, auburn and arky... and ole miss.
Exactly. Overall, our SOS will be one of the best in the nation by year's end. Looks like North Carolina has held it together somehow and will have a 7-5 or 8-4 type record. WVU will hopefully be in the same ballpark. ULM is 2-3. Hopefully 6-6 is in the cards for that team.
On College Football Live on ESPN just a few minutes ago, Brad Edwards, ESPN's BCS expert said that right now, Ohio State and LSU are most in control of their own destiny.
I would have it as: 1. Oregon (will jump Ohio State if they run the table because of a tougher shedule down the stretch, computer polls will be better in the end, given both being undefeated) 2. Ohio State 3. LSU (Undefeated SEC would jump Nebraska eventually, Big 12 is really weak) 4. Auburn 5. Nebraska 6. Oklahoma 7. Boise State 8. TCU 9. Alabama 10. Michigan State (they picked a bad year not to play Ohio State, weak Big 10) 11. Arkansas 12. South Carolina 13. Oklahoma State 14. Missouri 15. Utah 16. Nevada If an undefeated LSU or Auburn plays a 1 loss top 5 ranked South Carolina in the SEC CG, then I do believe LSU or Auburn jumps to #2 in the polls past Ohio State. Would be a close call to jump all the way to #1, actually. Depends on if Arizona State and Oregon State can keep from losing (the last 2 opponents for Oregon). Oregon conveniently plays Oregon State (who could be top 10 by then if they run the table) the same weekend the conferences hold their championship games. One more chance to impress. Ohio State is idle and hating it. I still don't get why Ohio State and Michigan don't just schedule a bye week and play on the first week in December instead.
