After week one, what do we know? Bama has a lot of talent and they played the best competition on opening day. That's all. I like college football but there are peaks and valleys, bumps and bruises and all kinds of weird stuff that happens along the way. But Bama is enjoying the first win like you guys did against the ducks. I hope we use it and build on it to serve as momentum through the season as LSU did as well. Buckle up, at least 12 more to go.
The only difference is that your fans won't be saying: "We want LSU!" I have a feeling this is going to be a pissing match for the coming weeks.
If LSU shows they are on last season's plane, momentum wise, there will be plenty of folks sweating bullets around here. Tennessee beats NCS and they're up there hollering for Bama. They get this perpetual beat down by Florida every year and all they want is us. Football fans are weird.
I'm not bored. I don't think the title should just be handed over to us. I think Michigan was slightly overrated. (They weren't that bad, we were just that good and they just didn't quite get things going Saturday night) I don't like articles like these, but I think some of you might have missed the point anyway. The point of the article is that they "might as well" you know, because we have a legitimate shot at everything just working again as in 09 & 11. He didn't say it "should" be awarded to us now, end of season, yadayada. Anyway, I agree with Tusk. Nothing was proven on September 1. Sportswriters just love to go crazy about this and get fans pumped, debates going, make themselves popular/infamous.
I'll begrudgingly admit Kevin Scarbinsky has a finger on the pulse of what happens in Tuscaloosa, or what happens to be in the minds of players, coaches, or fans, as soon as you'll admit the following. Glenn Guilbeau has his finger on the pulse of the LSU programs' fans, teams, coaches, and administration. I don't hold Scarbinsky's opinions against him. He's not one of those guys who you'll see me saying, "I'm not going to give him the satisfaction of a click." He's just voicing his opinion; right or wrong. That said, I'll never be able to read any of this articles without thinking about this one little point. When he applied for his job at the B-ham news he didn't get the one he wanted. He applied to be a food critic. I'll never criticize him on his choices of which ascot to wear. I wouldn't, and don't plan on having, a clue. If he says you're supposed to cook Creme Brulee for 3 hours I'll believe him. However, any comments or opinions he has about UA athletics? Occasionally, I might raise an eyebrow.
You cherry-picken gumps always crack me up. Whether its the subtle "because we have a legitimate shot at everything just working again" or the douchebaggery "70 consecutive points over three games and two years", you just cant resist. My personal favorite to paraphrase, held LSU to 0 touchdowns in two games. Lets ignore the fact that its exactly one less than Bama... So how was that momentum after Nov5? Alabama never loses, they just unwin.
