For all the happiness and sadness that JJ's brought to us, just read this article in memory of him and wish him the best as a person and player! Jordan Jefferson's LSU career takes turn for worse after bar fight | NOLA.com
It's a well done writeup and definitely takes you back to the human side of this tragic story. I have to admit I never felt much sorrow for JJ until I read that. I wish him well.
I really hope Jefferson will be able to put this whole business behind him. He has terrific legal representation now, and in the end (hopefully) it will be found that Jordan was unjustifiably accused. Then, perhaps the real culprits (the man who threw the first punch AND his 19 year old girlfriend) will have THEIR justice served.:thumb:
The comment "he could possibly redshirt and come back next year" made me shutter a bit. I like JJ but I really hope he is not back next year, I am really ready for a change of pace at QB. Rivers, Mett, anyone but Lee or Jefferson. Love the guys really great Tigers but can we turn the page ?
I'm leaning towards TT's stance on this, not just for the reasons listed but, I'm the type who pulls for every Tiger, good or bad and I don't like them open to ridicule. They are one of ours.:tigerhead
I agree, but all we have are media reports and in today’s news market the facts are frequently an afterthought. They just report anything anyone says to beat the other news outlets. Hopefully we’ll find out what actually happened in the coming weeks. I always liked JJ. I’ve never been knowledgeable enough about football to understand why he struggled so much and seemed so inconsistent. I wish him the best and hope this mess is cleared up soon and he is able to move on with his life. I do agree with CLM’s decision to suspend the two players after they were arrested. Our program has received so much bad publicity in the last few weeks (whether or not it is deserved isn’t the issue – bad publicity is bad publicity). Difficult decisions like the suspension of players are the only way for the program to move on and focus on the coming season. ldskule:
One can feel sorry for him but his actions with a few other football players have damaged our chances and casts a bad shadow on LSU. We'll hear about this all year. Just hope we bounce back.
