this ain't atlanta or houston where the fan base abandons their team when their losing. you can't really believe what you're saying right? it's just what you want to believe. saints fans have supported this franchise from day 1 thru all the bad yrs.
places like cincy and arizona put 20,000 when the team is awful, the dome is 75% full in horrific seasons.

just like the majority of people "tiger baiting" was 15 min before the NC??

any fan base swells with success, that's universal. to say the majority though i think is slighting the saints fan base.

No doubt, I never thought I'd live to see New Orleans Saints Super Bowl Champions in the same sentence.
    Someone please pinch me again!:insane:

That's OK. Those saying these things aren't Saints fans anyway.

Tiger fans who hate the Saints, this message is for you.

The Saints are no longer your whipping boy. You need to find another one. You know, it's perfectly acceptable to root for BOTH the Saints and the Tigers. They don't play each other.

My take LSU by far, and for me here is one of the biggest differences; Saints fans are/were just happy to be in the Super Bowl, win or lose; LSU fans would have expected the Tigers to win a game of that magniture, the MNC.

To me, LSU is bigger. Mobile is a Saints town, and I would wager that 90% of football fans that grew up here are Saints fans. As such, I've been a Saints fan all my life. I only became an LSU fan 11 years ago at 18, when I decided to attend. Still, that is a connection that I don't have to the Saints. I feel like LSU is MY school, and not just my team. I lived there, I learned there, and I did a lot of growing up there. Don't get me wrong, I was in my black and gold last night, and I am very proud of the team (and probably celebrated a little too much for a work night). It just isn't quite the same.

The original question was about Louisiana, but that's my take.

    It WAS A JOKE, Izzy.

Go back and look at some of my posts in the Saints forum for reference.

PS It's VICE versa. But I DO take Visa and Master Card as well. :hihi:

Great post, from another LSU alumni (and BR boy)

    Yep.

It's NOT all about New Orleans.

    PS LSU won't EVER move.

The Saints almost did 4 years ago.

This from a 43 year Saints fan.

LSU has been playing football since 1893, the Saints since 1967.

That's parents, grandparents, great-grandparents as fans.

Plus LSU has won all three of their NCs in New Orleans.

too close to call. no real split loyalties like in other states. an unknown % dont like lsu because of resentment and/or other schools (tulane, ull) and and unknown % dont like the saints (north and west LA)

i wonder if our situation is like wisconsin or other states (minn, colo) where there is only one nfl team and one major college team. the difference with wisconsin is that GB has had success throughout and is not in a metro area.
