He made some solid plays in crucial situations. This guy would definitely be a starter getting a lot of looks if we didn't have so much other talent at WR. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think last year Bama and Georgia had nearly the talent we have at WR. Probably why Julio Jones and AJ Green had big seasons. I believe Randle is definitely every bit as talented as those two. That first catch he caught on 3rd down, the ball was thrown behind him I believe and he adjusted extremely well. Wish we had gotten him some more playing time in the first 4 games but he should still contribute quite a bit this season.
2 catches for 28 yards :thumb: Lafell and Dickson only had 3 catches. Toliver was the man at WR yesterday with 6 catches for 76 yards.
Our talented top 5 receivers (LaFell, Toliver, Dickson Jackson, Randle) are all potential big-play artists. We really need Jefferson to be hitting these guys regularly.
We still have over half the season left to go. I think he'll get more playing time and continue to improve and contribute. He definitely came through big time when the pressure was on yesterday.
When you look at RBs, WRs, and TEs, LSU has the most talent IMO of any team. Its just for the OL and JJ to improve a bit and LSU could score with anyone in the country. Plus you can add multi position guys like Shepard and Holliday to the mix.
The catch Randle made when he reached back and snagged it for a first down was eerily similar to the first-down catch Dwayne Bowe made as a freshman vs. Georgia in 03. I saw that catch and knew Bowe would be a good one. Toliver's performance yesterday can't be spoken about enough. He was just outfighting guys for the football, and picking up tough yards after. I like our WR corps next year with RR and TT, the db's will be helpless.
Does anyone else remember the one handed td catch Bowe made as a freshman? That is when I realized he was the real deal. Randle will be a star too. GEAUX WIDEOUTS!
when randle made those catches it looked to me like he was running lafell's routes. makes sense because they came right after lafell was having his battle with the dropsies.
The thing to realize is this really isnt the year set up for the tigers. Jefferson gets experience as do our young wide receivers. Our line is going to improve. Our defense doesnt lose much. With a year of starting and another offseason program JJ is going to have confidence and experience. Those are two great things to have coming back. And Tebow is a senior with alot of the fla. defense. I think this team keeps improving this year and the future looks very bright for LSU. The only thing that i have seen that worries me is JJ doesnt understand the way the option is supposed to be run. Shepard would be a great option qb. I would like to see him at tailback on some sweeps or screen passes.
