In years past, even when we started a game slow, we picked it up and played harder in the 2nd half. I'm not sure if the time zone difference, altitude or what played the part in it... but we looked out of gas by half time. I can't remember the last time I saw LSU dragging their feet and struggling to keep up with someone. Our conditioning imo needs to be addressed and cardio put back on top of the menu for upcoming practices. This has always been what's seperated LSU from everyone else... any opinions?
I think 2 things affected our defense- 1.) They were on the field for like- 83 plays? A lot of that was our own fault. We couldn't stop them on 3rd down. 2.) The time difference. I know I was HURTING at halftime. :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
I guess trying to run down a QB with sub 4 second 40 speed will take it's toll as well... but I have never seen LSU that tired.
And we did in this game, too. The second half was much better. I didn't see real fatigue from the Tigers, just hesitation, and some confusion. We need to find some consistency and the coaches will be working very hard on that.
Yeah you got me there... I guess imma gonna have to sit back and chalk this one up to new names and very conservative play calling. And watch patiently as we right some wrongs and get back to old form. I just hope we come out extremely hungry against Vandy and call last night a fluke.
Thats one of the biggest issues. We'll show up (or will at least be ready to play) against the big teams. Last year was too predictable. Everyone knew they would suck against Troy, and they did. This needs to be corrected. Ill call Dr. Lou if I have to.
