Absolutely all of it. Price controls? What are you a commie? I would NEVER support a price control or a subsidy. Those are just fancy ways to say punish the poor.

    From SDM's article:

So.... Breaking the law is whose fault? I get that it's hard to find qualified workers that won't work for $15 a day, but you can't really blame the fact that Customs is doing their job. I mean, it is their job, right? But I guess it's ok since they're saving the consumer money.

I thought you were asking if I were being sarcastic about my entire post. I certainly was. I made up the price controls thing. It just happens to be the kind of non sense you favor.

    ok.

im surprised youre agaisnt it. id have thought youd prefer to limit off the books transactions and that you might agree that the workers are being exploited (less than fair wages)

What is less than a fair wage? I don't even know what that means. There is a meeting of what the farmers are willing to pay and what these workers are willing to accept. We have a wage that is set by the market. If the pay is too low then the lettuce pickers should go do something else.

wokers that want to work are not being exploited. they want to come here and work! so you cannt say "hey goofy beaners, you are being exploited!, stop working and starve or return to your drug violence ravaged town where you are not exploited."

they define what is exploitative or what they are willing to accept. you cannot define what they will do for money. you do not know what is best for the. 15 a day seems bad to you, but it might seem ok if you are a dirty dirty mexican.

you might ask "well who will protect the workers if not me and my uppity white labor laws?". the answer is again, the market. and choice. these workers are protected from exploitation, because they have choice not to work. but in some cases, that is worse. but let them make that call, eh?

do you actually want to be living and working in 1900 for getty or vanderbilt working for crap living in a slum with no rights (and you might be 12 yrs old)

i think you two dont even believe exploitation can exist.

the scotus has ruled that, for example, you cant agree to become an endentured servant and you cant be tossed if you are a dwarf. just because you have no good alternatives does not make it right (or legal) to do anything.

i say $15/day for picking apples is exploitation. we should pay more for apples---as the market would dictate.

i dont but i am not the one who tries to get that job. mexicans clearly do want to work for crappy wages in strawberry fields or whatever they do.

only if the person is a slave, or is being tricked, like working in a situation with chemicals they do not realize are toxic or something.

    they outlawed marriage?

seems discriminatory. i can be tossed because i am full size but a dwarf cant? court needs to review that one, sounds unconstitutional.

you should learn that your opinion shouldnt rule everyone else that does not share your opinion. mexicans, in addition to be dirty, are desperate. they like jobs that you do not like. it is not your business (literally) if person X wants to work for person Y for salary Z.

you are certainly free to pay as much as you want. send your whole salary to the apple company if you want.
