He did that from the running back position. It was a handoff. First play: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJc12kB0FBo&feature=results_video&playnext=1&list=PL609B8429826BB32D"]Russell Shepard true freshman season (2009) - YouTube[/ame]
My point was that's why he was so highly recruited. I didn't really think it was even a debate that he was good at that. I'm not saying he should start at QB or anything. But given that he is possibly leaving for not being involved in the gameplan, it would very much be a slap in the face to give "wildcat" plays to a DB. The TD run against Auburn was from the RB position, but why should the fact that it happened 2 years ago be a knock against him. It's not his fault he doesn't get carries anymore.
Right, as he should, but why would he if he's gone on to bigger and better things? I think we can all agree that his college career was wasted because he was greatly underutilized.
There are a lot of players out there (former Tigers and otherwise) that have never lived up to their billing/potential. RS is one of those. I respect him. I like him. He's ALWAYS 100%, LSU sunshine-pumping and a great player for the program. BUT, he's no where near the "star-studded status" that his 5-star ranking out of high school, or superman tag most here label him as. He SHOULD return for his Sr. year and work on improving his game as a WR.
I'm not saying he's Percy Harvin, but he ran the wildcat against Georgia as a freshman and was good at it. He averaged over 7 yards/carry with extremely predictable playcalling his freshman year. But for some reason, he was placed at WR.
