I know Id criticized him a lot recently and I stand by what I said. Ive never thought of Miles as a great coach, I think he is a good coach. But the man has some sort of magnetism about him. That draws you, makes you like him. No matter how I feel about the game, I smile when he talks. He is a great man though and that is a big reason for his success here. I think his style is a good fit with LSU. I just wanted to see progress, which I saw yesterday. So Im back on board, I saw more of the :miles: again yesterday. That sort of, coy arrogance.
that was infuriating to watch and in a pros and cons list on les, this would be at the top of the list for cons.
This from the guy who wanted to bench Chad Jones. Who wanted to bench Scott and make Keiland the primary back. Maybe they didn't want to risk a long field goal (that could have been blocked) or pass that could have been returned for a TD? Besides if you don't convert the fourth down you give Georgia the ball near mid field.
I was in the stadium. Everyone was stunned that we let all that time run off. Afterall we moved the ball to their side of the field, and we had PLENTY of time to score at least a field goal, if not more. And it didn't seem as though the players knew they were going to let the time run off - they all just looked like they didn't know what they were doing.
Clock management has alway's been les's biggest weakness. He literally has no idea what he's doing sometimes. The run at the end of the game was idiotic even though it went for six. What was the plan when we only got three on the play? waste another timeout? It still would have been a 52 yard field goal from there.
Our kicker can hit from 52, amigo. Would you have passed and risked an interception and gotten no points at all? :insane:
He could do alot better in clock management. and yeah Ive heard that about the respect thing too. Let's hope some things improve, I know its been there a while but anything could happen. i was pretty amazed at the "no plan" plan myself.
A safe pass yes. Roll out and hit an open receiver or thow it in the stands. I would prefer that to a 52 FG attempt in a hostile stadium.
Throw it into the stands? Make it a 55-yard field goal attempt? We were looking to get it under 50 yards and Scott is averaging 5 yards a carry. It was the right call. At worst, we keep the ball and improve the kick by a few yards. At best . . . touchdown.
