Based on his edit, perhaps he has seen the error of his ways. TCS, You are new here. There are a lot of long time inhabitants of TF, we get along, for some definition of "get along". We get along because we have maintained some modicum of civility, and reasonableness. Your posts fall outside that definition. Maybe this is not the right LSU forum for you. With posts like yours, maybe you'd like some other rant type forum. If you want to be a longtime poster here, this would be advice well taken. That's how I see it.
Don't ask me, you're the one who brought up Garrett being the future of LSU. I strain for any QB, playing for LSU, to do well and get the initial and proverbial monkey off his back. I've not given up on Lee yet either. :thumb:
With these new posers, I mean posters, I think I'm done with LSU forums. Tigerforums used to be special. Thanks mods/admins.
SabanFan, thanks for giving your thoughts on the game when I asked for them. I really do enjoy it when you break things down. Don't let the general mood of the forum dictate the tone of your posts as you did ith starting the thread!
Here are my thoughts, for no other reason then I want to get them out. Some have been mentioned previously by houtiger. It all starts with the O-line. I'm not even going to talk about it though because it's obvious. I don't understand the problem, but we all know there is one. Obviously, we continue to be ultra conservative on offense. Didn't Miles have a quote that said something to the effect that coaches have an obligation to call and design plays that maximizes their players' talent? I don't think we're doing that. I haven't minded it in the past because we were winning, but it's time to open the play book. We've got the hosses. PLEASE quit having the players look over to the sideline to get the play call. I believe it kills the rhythm of the offense. Instead of playing to win, I think we're playing 'not to lose' football because of what happened with Lee last year. It's time to forget that philosophy. As poorly as he performed at times, at least we had a chance to make big plays because he would take some shots down field. So far, we have a zero chance of that with JJ because he's unwilling or unable to attempt a deep throw. You can probably count on one hand the number of times he's thrown further than 20 yards all year (Not a YAC thow that's +20, I'm taljing of when the ball actually travels at least 20 yards. I still can't understand why we have problems designing plays to get Holliday the ball in space. They went to him a couple of times last night, but not necessarily the types of plays he needs to shine. Why not a swing or screen pass? We're still very undisciplined with alot of unnecessary penalties. The real killers were the off sides on FU first possession that extended the drive and allowed them a FG and the facemask on 3rd 7 the opening drive of the 2nd H, when we could've gotten the ball in excellent field position. I still think some of those off sides should've been illegal motions because of what the FU center was doing by moving his head around - but why didn't they see that on film and prepare for it? The defense played great, but they are not dominant. Our secondary is probably the best in the nation, but our front 4 are solid, but not spectacular. I wished we'd blitz more than we do. FU had an ultra conservative game plan too, so that factors in as well. In our dominant years, no team would dare to run the ball on 3rd and 5+ as much as FU did and make it. Still, their only TD did come on a BS non-call and we held them to their lowest point total in years, so that speaks for itself. Those are my observations.
Thanks for getting rid of that pile of $hit. There are a few more than need to go like FireMiles or whatever his name is. Another complete moron who is just stiring the pot.
future meaning I think he will prove to be an excellent pocket passer in a few years. maybe sooner who knows. I suggested a couple of years ago we could use a QB coach like Cutcliff or similar.
