and jumping off too. I've got 3.7 MILLION REASONS why Les Miles should be held responsible for this debacle. Add in about 1500 reasons of my own. If he is going to get paid that kind of money and we are going to pay the money we do to support the program, then we damn sure deserve better than we are getting. I know we have had great success under Miles. I know that the sky is not falling (it's not far from happening though). However, even in the successful years the seasons were packed with cardiac arrest moments. Lots of close games over the past few years. Very few solid victories. Much of it to do with stubbornness and very poor decision making by the coaches when it matters most. Those players on the field deserve better than this. They truly do. NO MATTER WHAT, some house cleaning MUST be done within this LSU coaching staff. Whether or not it is dismissing Gary Crowton or more, that is yet to be determined. Right now though, this team is limping along through the seasons. If not for awesome recruiting work, the team would be .500 at best the past two years. Our players truly have a lot of heart and leave it all out on the field. It's time to have a coaching staff that does the same.
Re: I'm climing up onto the ledge Could not agree more. We are paying this guy ENTIRELY too much money for him to make such monumentally STUPID decisions at such critical moments. I mean, this is a very basic football decision that screwed us tonight. Even freaking Verne Lundquist knew that we didn't have time to spike the ball, and that dude is a bufoon among bufoons. In all honesty, if I'm a prized recruit, I can't see any reason why I would come and play for such an under-achieving coaching staff. As much as it pains me to say it, that's the truth.
Re: I'm climing up onto the ledge This is Dinardo Redux. Arky puts up 42 pts against MSU. We will be in the Liberty Bowl. How's that for a fall from grace?
Re: I'm climing up onto the ledge i have always defended miles. i cant defend that and i wouldnt if i could.
Re: I'm climing up onto the ledge same here. However i still support Miles and hope we can beat arkansas next week. That said, I would not be sad to saying goodbye to Gary Crowton
Re: I'm climing up onto the ledge Make room for me up there Grad. I hate to say it, but I don't think he recovers from this.
Re: I'm climing up onto the ledge Miles needs to hire quality assistants and let them coach. The D played poorly in the first half, made half time adjustments and played much better. The offense was horrible in the first half coaches took a nap at halftime and the offense was even worse in the second half. The entire offensive coaching staff has failed this year, no way I could grade them better than an F. There needs to be some changes starting with Stud on the OL and I'm really not sure if we would not be better off without Crowton. Anyone know who is available as OC?
Re: I'm climing up onto the ledge Coordinators can only do so much. I'm not about to defend Crowton's mind-bogglingly stupid play calling all season. However, at some point, the HEAD coach has got to take charge and right the ship. Miles has never shown me the ability to do that. He's relied solely on his coordinators his entire tenure here. And, while he's been able to HIRE good assistants, he's not been able to manage them very effectively. When there are obvious deficiencies in a unit, it is up to the head coach to work with the coach of that unit to fix the problem.
DONT DO IT MAN! come on down! its just a game. besides you'd miss me saying jammers. LOL FWIW I agree with you.
