Because it's imaginary, even the telecasters will tell you it isn't exact. If you wanna get technical the tackles aren't lined up on the LOS either.
It was the guy on the far side who was back a little too far that made it an illegal formation. Counting him put six in the backfield.
Seems like such a ticky tack call, if that's the case. He doesn't seem that far back -- I thought there was some leeway allowed. It doesn't seem all that egregious, and it had no bearing on the play.
There has to be some because the offensive line line up in the shape of a quasi triangle, where the center lines up on the ball, guards a little further back, tackles a little further back.
Part of the problem is the inside slot receiver is actually too far back off the line. Should typically be 1 yard behind, he's clearly 2 yards back. This gives Dural an optical illusion of sorts in which he thinks he is lined up correctly based on where the inside receiver is positioned. In other words, Dural is correctly positioned in relation to Dupree.
If you watch the play in its entirety you see Dupree back off the line and look over to the side judge. It does seem like he was baited.
Borderline on the tight end, but even if you're right, you can only have four in the backfield. Either Dural or the tight end could have been flagged.
