Sorry guys, I don't believe Dural checked with the line judge. Me thinks that story is an attempt to cover some ass. Someone who watches game again let me know if I'm wrong.
I think he means he spoke to him prior to the play. Coaches and players will do that when they are going to do something hokie so that they are aware before the play.
Nah, wideouts point to the line judge to get the nod on every play the line up split out. If the WR is lined up on the line, the TE is covered and cannot go out for a pass. I just read that someone did watch again and there is evidence to show he did though so I could be wrong.
I didn't have a problem with that call. The replay showed at least to me that we had five guys in the backfield.
Correct me if I'm wrong; it almost looks like Dupre is lined up as a slot receiver? If he checked with the officials and got the okay, why was the play still flagged? Am I missing something here?
The two wideouts are two yards behind the green LOS line. Like I said earlier, I think we had five players in the backfield.
I posted this on two other threads a bit earlier: "Just saw on Jacques Doucet's Twitter re the Fournette negated TD: Dupre said he checked with refs re the formation and was told it was good. It was flagged anyway. So there's that..." So it would seem Dupre was okay? But on the screenshot, Dural looks like he's lined up properly.
