definitely dont need to bench him, if Faulk wasnt hurt we beat Florida.
thats why im so frustrated, we beat ourselves, Florida did nothing to really stop us.

It would be nice to have a 1 QB system and it be productive. However I will not change my stance on trying anything at your disposal to make the team more successful.

I dont think Mett should be benched. I think that he has made some mistakes but don't think it warrants a benching. Jordan Jefferson did worse in some areas, and was allowed to stay on the field.

If our freaking receivers would just catch the ball ... and hold on to it after they catch it, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

I'm not against a change of pace QB ... but when the change of pace turns into the elimination of a successful QB, as happened last year [the displaced guy didn't play squat for the last 3-4 games], then it becomes an issue.

But then .. I'm biased ... I'm not high on running QBs.

I want nothing to do with a duel QB system again. Mett is not the reason we lost to Florida. Our WRs nobility to catch as pass was far more devastating to us. Before we pull Mett we should pull our WRs.

I mean they were running slot WR passes to COPELAND! At first I thought that was crazy. Then I realized why, our FB has better hands than our WRs.

Yep .. before we pull Mett .. I think we need to let mett throw a gagillion passes to the TEs. They caught all of their passes.

Hey .. go where the success is.

    1. While Mett still has a lot of room for improvement, I think his performance as is would be good enough if the pass protection were better and the receivers were not dropping so many passes.

    2. The OP assumes if CLM decided to pull Mett, it would be because he wants to change the whole offensive approach; from a basic pro-set approach to an option attack. I don't think CLM's mind works in that manner. If he decides Mett has to come out, Rivers is coming in, because he's the backup. The fact that he's fundamentally the same type of QB as Mett is irrelevant.

We started off....so well. Quick passes.

I know that we were pinned down for awhile after that due to field position.

However, we never went back to it.

Totally agree throw to the TE!

Mettenberger would look like an All-SEC quarterback if his receivers could hang onto the football, minus the fumbles of course.

Let's not get carried away. Allot of those passes were thrown behind the receivers. He has some work to do. He holds on to the ball to long. His footwork is horrible when he scrambles, and he does not look to his blindside to pick up the blitz.
