I like Mett a LOT, and if we had receivers like we're used to having, we'd be talking about whether or not he'll decide to stay another year.
Wow. You really bought the hype. Let your vision be your guide. Mett isn't even sec ready. Much less the nfl.
His reads are very slow but his arm makes up for the second or two delay. Yes the receivers have to step up, but Mett isnt there yet
While the title leaves a lot to be desired we know that he won't come out of the game...unless it is on a stretcher and well that is entirely possible. I wish the kid well.
I apologize for the way the thread title was worded. Mistake on my part. Won't happen again. But the question is a legit one. If Les does Mett dirty like Lee, I am sure there will be some fan opinions. Just wanted to know what everyone thought. Is it probably going to happen, probably not. Can we put it passed Les? Not really given the track record.
Mett's problem as mastermind pointed out is that he holds on to the ball too long and doesn't as of yet have that sixth sense when it comes to pressure from the blitz.
I agree, and many of tiger fans have observed that during the course of the season thus far. But after seeing that, whoever is in charge of the offense should be doing something to combat that. Like take him from out from under center, or do something with formations for added protection.
Mett has a myriad of issues. Slow footed, no awareness or sense of pressure in the pocket. Lack of composure. This lethargy coupled with the paranoia someone's after him likely means he's stoned. This would explain his sitting at the end of the bench staring into space as well. Use him like Jamarcus and put him in the shotgun at least until he puts down the bong. Utilize his strengths minimize his weaknesses.
We don't have to pull Mettenberger. But why not try Bolden for certain plays, just like Florida did last week and in Tebows first year. We did it ourselves with Lee and Jefferson last year. Don't bench Mettenberger for Gods sake, but mix in a change-up quarterback to catch them napping perhaps and to complicate future opponents practices as they must prepare for it.
