I did a story about alcohol sales here and I got an e-mail saying it was banned by the SEC from two different LSU people, Herb was one of them. I can copy/paste 'em tomorrow when I am at the office, but I guess I was lied to, which sucks, but wouldn't be a major surprise.
Link to this. University decides to allow beer inside stadium - WAFB Channel 9, Baton Rouge, LA | Also in the article: Sorry. Said I wouldn't post again about this but I just wanted to add the link to LSUGradin99's quote.
just for the record, tulane sells beer at turchin stadium (baseball). and have at least back to 01 that i know of. of course, this season, they needed to in order to dull the pain. the only time they do not is when regionals/super regionals are held there. then, they cannot because it is an ncaa event. however, they have found a way around that. they just dont sell it "inside the stadium" during those tournaments.
The vast majority of LSU fans already show up at TS in various stages of inebriation. I don't even want to think what beer sales would add to that mix.
Less problems imo, because people wouldn't be rushing and drinking 10 beers in 2 hours to get a buzz before the game. The Saints game isn't bad.
My reason is usually because there is still precious booze left in the Bubba Keg. View attachment 13320 Did I mention that the females love Bubba. :hihi:
They would still drink like fish before the game, because they are students or just people who can't afford to pay the prices of what beer would actually cost. So they limit how much they would have to purchase once they arrive. Then the beer availability at TS would definitely worsen the problems with drunks at the football games.
The fact that they won't let me play flip cup in TS is the main reason for me. Plus the 6 hours before I walk to the staduim to damage a case of michelob has nothing to do with beer sales that ISN'T a Texaco.
