What would it be? This could be serious or not serious. I posed this thread probably 2 years or so ago and got some pretty interesting discussion. It's the offseason.
me? I'd sign a deal to renovate all of the inside of Tiger Stadium to make it comparable to ..... EVERYONE in the SEC. No reason the kings of the SEC should play in the stadium that is farthest from a palace in the SEC.
The obvious would be fire gary crowton. But instead i'd fire joe alleva. Or give myself a free, all sports, premium seats, season tix for life package. Yep, I think the tix. Let one of y'all do the firing.
The NCAA just added "sand" volleyball to their sanctioned menu. For my own viewing pleasure, I would get hot on that and get a ladies team in there ricki tick. I would fire Crowton for a day as well. EDIT: Somebody STOLE my idea so I think Gar dog needs to geaux to a poll.
I'd institute an LSU boxing team. Can you imagine a middleweight conference championship bout between LSU and Bama? How about a conference boxing tournament in the Superdome with all day partying in the French Quarter...on free TV !!!!
Ummmm... What other stadiums have you been to? I've been to some real slums as far as SEC stadiums go.
I thought Ole Miss, Bama and Florida were all very nice. Either way, the bottom bowl of LSU's stadium is ... NOT very nice. We can agree there? Broken windows on abandoned rooms, etc...
I won't lie... THAT would be something awesome to see. It would never happen, but it would be the electric surge boxing needed to stay alive, too.
It would be inexpensive to produce. There already is boxing in the NCAA..you would only have around 10 weight classes so around 15 scholarships and one coach...set up a ring in the PMAC...use existing facilities like weight rooms, etc...sell tickets for the live cards...put it on TV...count the revenue...That'd be my game plan. I bet it's very "do-able". I bet the benefits FAR outweigh the effort and cost of putting it on. I once sent an e-mail to Alleva about this and got absolutely no response or confirmation that the e-mail was even received...so you're right...it's not even on his radar at all.
I would publicly criticize SEC officiating and then when Slive tried to fine me I would politely say that was yesterday, I don't work here any more..
