All of these require an experienced, confident, mentally agile quarterback and Jefferson was not one last year and Lee was not in 2008. But they ain't green rookies anymore, both have arms, both are healthy, both have been through an SEC season, and both should have it all together in their junior year. The coaches can do a lot more with veteran quarterbacks. But, . . . they all have to prove it on the field before anyone becomes a true believer.
My only point to posting this is that for all the negatives people say about JJ, I can match them with a positive.
He could throw for 50 TD's and 0 int's, 5000 yds, but unless we look like the crispest NFL offense and go undefeated he'll still be picked apart.
Maybe we should use the O that Jackson State used when Rice was there. No huddle - 2 minute drill the entire game. One has to be in shape for it or you die on the field - Friend of mine played D back against them said he was dead tired after a game with them. He couldn't catch his breath.
??? If he throws for 50 TDs, 0 INTs and 5000 yds, JJ would be an undisputed Greatest of All Time candidate in LSU history.
Cause there's a plan in a 2 minute offense, seriously. First of all, teams "plan" to score and they practice the plays scripted. I once read that there were more points scored in the 4th quarter than all other quarters-total- because of this "Two minute" factor.
