If you had to make a decision, to stay or leave would you stay in the SEC?

Every week is like a playoff game. Really no easy games. If you are CLM you need to take this into consideration. You can go to the Big 10 and have 2 or 3tough games a year. Not 5-6 and a couple of tough out of conference games.

This team is spent. I'm guessing we get beat pretty handily next week if it's UGA.

This should very well open the door for him to leave town. No NC, probably no SECCG. As much as it makes me sick the Saban shadow remains over CLM. That probably upsets me more than anything. CLM deserves better than that.

I agree - look at Kansas, they haven't played anyone and yet they are #2 in the country. Maybe we should defect.

Leave the SEC? That's heresy, man. NO WAY!

We could join the Sun Belt conference...It's tougher than the Big East...If W. Va. and Kansas make it to the NC, I'll be even more convinced than ever that we need a playoff.

WCT is talking about Miles leaving the SEC because other conferences are easier, not The Tigers leaving the SEC. I agree with the SECCG especially if Georgia makes it there. I see Miles leaving!

I hope he does. The SEC is too tough for him. Our Tigers have proven we can go through the SEC an win a NC. So has Florida.

Generally, a team improves itself by playing to the level of their conference. The Big East and ACC were middling conferences.

Look what happened when the ACC added Miami and Florida State. The rest of the conference had to catch up and, though it took a few years, they raised the level of play. Clemson, year-in, year-out, is better today though the wins are harder to come by. And when Va Tech and Boston College moved to the ACC, they improved. Conversely, Syracuse and Pitt suffered for staying in the Big East.

As to the fact that it is difficult to make it to the National Championship from the SEC, only the national titles of the past decades by Florida, LSU, Tennessee, Alabama and Auburn (in an obscure poll when they were 13-0 and screwed by the polls), refute that. Name another conference with that many teams winning titles.

The Big 12 has experienced the same thing. Titles by Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas and maybe Kansas/Missouri this year.

Rather than pull out of the SEC, we should align with the Big 12, play a championship and crown our own champion. In the long haul, which "national title" would look more legitimate to the public. And the remaining conferences would soon join in (especially the ACC) which would lead to the evolution of a playoff.

But none of that is going to happen because college presidents ADs and coaches don't really want that much pressure from a clear-cut system.

I guess it's too hard to read the threadmakers post! He's talking about Miles leaving NOT LSU LEAVING THE SEC! West Coast could have worded his thread title differently.

Someone get WestCoastyTigger a drink.
To be the best you have to play and beat the best.
This was the most thrilling year ever. We still have much to be proud of.
Keep your head up breax! :milesmic:
