Maybe not directly, but by saying that RP's involvement led to a national championship and using it to support a two QB system, you are implying that JJ could do the same thing. If the second QB continually stalls drives, then it's not the same as having RP as the 2nd option.
The last 3 games drives from both QBs. He did? Wow I missed that one, would have bet the house it was JL. You might want to watch the replay again.
I don't think Lee played all that bad last night. I mean, when 4 of your seven drives ends in a TD, and one ended in a missed FG that should have been made [32 FG is well within Jasper's range], and only 2 stalled .... that is not bad play at all. The game was meant to give the younger backs some time .... and it did. We saw a lot more running play yesterday. While Lee is only credited with 9/16, as I recall, at least one pass was called back because of an inelligible receiver down field. Seems like Toliver was rooked out of a completeion as well. Percentages wise, Lee did not play a bad game. If he had played the whole game the score could have very likely been a blowout ... like 40 or 50 to 3 [gotta remember, JJ handed McNeese their only TD].
BTW, Lee is quicker to make a decision and runs the ball better than Jefferson. It's a joke that Jefferson even sees the field now. He shouldn't be on the field unless Lee's leg is broken. I agree with this - I am trying to see what JJ does well can't see it
I'm all for the backup getting playing time. Why don't we let Lee score enough to put the game away and then JJ can have his turn?
picked this off a National blog if only CLM would see this??? It is time for Coach Miles to remove Jordan Jefferson from the equation, and eliminate the two quarterback system if LSU is to utilize the tremendous talent they have. Jarrett Lee and Terrance Toliver Chris Graythen/Getty Images On every winning drive or touchdown scoring drive, Jarrett Lee has proved without a doubt that he is the best quarterback to lead this team, and using Jordan Jefferson has just become a major obstacle to the success of this offense. Simply put, if LSU can stop Cam Newton they can defeat Auburn this weekend, but it will take one of LSU's best and most complete efforts to accomplish that feat.
See, that just proves the 2 qb system is working. JJ was just terrible before Lee was given a shot, and now that Lee moves the offense with his opportunities, and JJ still sh!ts the bed means if it ain't broke, don't fix it. How can you be so dumb?
No comparison between the offensive mindset of '07 and this year. In '07, Matt Flynn was our QB....period. Perrilloux had a limited package of options that he was inserted 5-10 plays a game to run, forcing defenses to respect a suddenly different look on several drives. The only similarity, and its a vague one, to this year is the new tendency of putting JJ in when we get inside the 10-yard line, after Lee drives the team there. Other than that, its just alternating possession. Oh, you were 5 of 5 for 78 yards and a touchdown on that last drive, Jarrett? Tough beans, its not your turn anymore. Now if you want to argue that RP's limited playing time in '07 allowed him to not be star-struck when he was forced to start in the SECCG, yes, I'll agree to that. But that's the only benefit we're getting out of the current system, and that same system may cost us enough that it makes the argument null and void before the season is over.
See I dont understand that. Why would you want JJ in the game before it's put out of reach? Out of 5 drives against McNeese JJ had three, 3 and out drives. Why would you want that kind of production early in the game? We need to strike fast again Auburn.
