If you are Les, and LSU loses to Bama, do you pull Mett?

we don't have a proven commodity at qb! that's exactly why we could replace mett with another qb.

we're blaming mett for not being ready. come on guys. we haven't had a qb properly trained in 5 years now. maybe it's the coaching. ya think?

Les will not be thinking about next season and making QB changes for that reason. Not when we are #6 w/ a chance to get even better/higher. Like others on here, it is hard for me to look at our offense for the last 6 out of 7 games (i.e. minus USCe) and imagine that we will be able to score on Bama, much less beat them. Weirder things have happened, and we have a chance, albeit small. We do have a bye week, and it is in TS, so those are positives for us. But, our offense is so inept. I agree fully w/Brett's analysis and concerns. We did manage to beat Bama in 2010 in TS when no one thought we would, so there is precedent. We will need our best offensive game in the last 10-12 games to do it, though. Doubt any wholesale QB change at this point, though. CLM is a man of percentages/odds, and those odds would not be greater.

Always figured that they didn't teach reading comprehension at LSU. Look at the topic. IF LSU LOSES TO BAMA they will not be #6 anymore, they will not be in contention for the SEC West or the BCS...

If they are going to mostly run the ball....throw Bolden out there.

Okay, smartass. I was responding to your post, not the thread title, and wasn't trying to be a dick. If we, in fact, lose to ALA, I still don't think CLM makes a change at QB. I think he would look at that as throwing in the towel. He will go w/the player he thinks gives him the best chance of winning. 2007 showed a 2 loss team can still make it to the NCG. I think he would rather give Mett the reps and the team the best chance to win. If he thought otherwise, Mett wouldn't be starting to begin with, and he wouldn't have gone back to JJ over JL last year. He sticks with who he thinks gives him the best chance to win. Bottom line. So, regardless of what YOU think he should do, he will continue to play Mett, I guarantee it.

The point about 2010 is spot on. I believe our offense may have even been worse that year, but we actually executed some plays we hadn't been executing all season and took that game.

The starter hasn't been aptly prepared in years much less the backup. So yeah, the backup is likely less tainted and will have a better chance. I'd pull mett during the Bama game if needed if it resembles our last meeting.

The same way jj shoulda been pulled 2nd qtr of the nc game yet les wouldn't even attempt to give the already proven better player a single snap. Mindboggling. This coaching staff has a hard time managing simple plays with basic sets. Add in more variables like a different qb and we'd have to purchase 12 timeouts per half from the sec office in Birmingham to get a play off on time. But we know les will bang his head against a wall until he wears a new hat size while the wall remains unaffected. maybe jj will be on the sideline offering support.

On a less serious note, I hated mett before he took a snap and my intuition was spot on unfortunately. I'm now predicting actual improvement. I however have no rationale that supports my stance. Not a smart time to think this given the opponent.

I don't think Mett will be pulled regardless, or as we say in Eastern NC, irregardless.

For what it's worth, he did pull a more experienced starter in favor of a backup in the Bama game last year.
