If you are Les, and LSU loses to Bama, do you pull Mett?

I know Les will not make that move. Mett is his QB, just like Jefferson was, and he won't come out unless he is hurt.... however...

If you are the coach and Mett looks like Mett against Bama, you are getting your second SEC loss. Do you pull Mett and try Rivers? Your BCS title hopes are gone, so why not see what you can see?

No. He's close to getting where he needs to be--that is, close to being good enough to efficiently distribute the ball to the players who can actually run and make a play.

The ball sailed on him too much today, but he wasn't throwing interceptions like his counterpart for the Aggies.

He's our starter. Deal with it. And...he'll be much more experienced a year from now.

If Les had a better quarterback available we would have seen him already. They have invested in Mettenberger this season and they will go with him. They no longer expect that he will learn the game quickly. There will be competition in the spring.

And to think we got through one whole year before going through this again.

Mett is not very good. No other way to say it. He has very poor pocket awareness, poor touch and telegraphs his throws horribly.

We will not beat Alabama with this offense as it currently stands. We aren't going to line up and run it at will if Alabama doesn't think we'll pass.

When you don't even trust your QB to throw inside the 10 yard line, you don't have a QB.

Does that mean there are better options? Nope. But it's hard to imagine this offense could be any worse with Bolden or Rivers under center.

He's close? 11/28 for 97 yards is close?

Yeah.. and I'm close to being a millionaire.

The hay is already in the barn. It is too late to start experimenting at that position.

Not a chance. We had a QB that led LSU to the best start in modern history and he was left on the bench while Jefferson floundered the entire national championship game despite the fact that everyone in America could see that Jefferson was never going to get it done.

Les is stubborn. Just because a player isn't playing doesn't necessarily mean there isn't a better option available.

My point is that Mett should not LOSE us games--like Manziel did to A & M today. We need to get back to more running, with timely passing.

This team will work its ass off for the next two weeks, and I'm excited to see the product they put on the field on November 3rd.
