I think everyone in the Big East wants out. The leadership is more worried about protecting St. John's and Providence and keeping them in a big basketball conference. Having Marquette and Depaul is considered more important than having Memphis and East Carolina. The blog post I read went like: Big 10: Hi (insert AD name), we were wondering if you would be inter... AD: When can we start?
Exactly, Pitt swears that they will be invited to the B10 sometime soon. ACC would be an option for us, but I believe we are much better suited for the SEC with the level of our athletic programs, our traveling fanbase, high TV ratings, etc. (although I'm not sure how many of you guys would enjoy traveling to Morgantown in December lol). Plus I'm sure if the SEC does expand, they would cherry pick a team or two from the ACC as well which would make the ACC even less relevant. The BE was formed as a Bball conference and will always be a Bball conference. They lack all insights on how to run a successful BCS football conference.
I would love to see us in the SEC. It would take us a while to compete year in and year out like LSU, Bama, and Florida does. But we could get there. If we went to the ACC we could win it year in and year out. The ACC is just as bad as the BE anymore.
