Bama is going to win the NC this year. I think they beat UF, and no team they could play for the championship will have a clue against that defense.
i saw a couple of bowl projections earlier this week that had Boise St. playing TCU in the fiesta. If they are at large why can't they select 2 non BCS teams?
Bama won't bet Florida because Bama has a mediocre QB (at best). :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
Doesn't matter. They have the best coach in CFB, and enough support for their "decent" QB to win the game. Tebow is not what he once was without the receiving corp he used to have. JJ is ranked higher than him in nearly every stat. So you could say the same thing for UF.
Is that your statement, or something you found in the BCS procedures? The best I could find is: If any of the 10 slots remain open after application of provisions 1 through 4, and an at-large team from a conference with an annual automatic berth for its champion is ranked No. 3 in the final BCS Standings, that team will become an automatic qualifier, provided that no at-large team from the same conference qualifies for the national championship game. That contradicts what you just said, because that paragraph states that the automatic bid for finishing 3rd in the BCS will not be granted if the 2 teams in the BCS CG are from that same conference.
Yes, I corrected my statement. Only 1 has an automatic bid, the other must be selected from an at-large pool. And funny enough, if you go back to my earlier post above, I finally finished making out the scenario of what teams could be chosen in the 4 BCS bowl games. I said there that I would hope the Fiesta selects TCU and Boise State and bypasses selecting the 2nd best Big 12 team (Okla State or OU). The Fiesta doesn't seem to be as tied to the Big 12 as the other conferences and their respective bowls. Of course the Big 12 champ contractually goes to the Fiesta, but after that, not sure if the Fiesta would select a questionable Big 12 team (i.e., 3 loss Okla State or OU). Then we have the very very real possibility that if USC were to run the table and not win the PAC 10, they would be selected by the Sugar to face the losing team from the SEC CG.
I think we go to Orlando: Here's why. BCSCG gets winner of SECCG (I would bet on Florida right now, but it should be a good game) Sugar gets loser of SECCG against TCU or Boise St Next in line in SEC is LSU, with the potential to be 10-2. Everybody in the conference has at least 3 conference losses. The Cap One will be rooting for LSU to beat GTHOM and R-Kansas. Time to buy some mouse ears. GEAUX TIGERS
