and its likely we won't now, unless some crazy sh!t happens, and Bama drops a game before Florida drums them in Atlanta, I want to do everything possible to get USC in a bowl game. What does it take to get USC in a bowl game, what scenario?
Florida goes to the BCS CG and Bama goes to the Sugar in your scenario. Can't have more than 2 teams from the same conference in BCS games. The SEC will never play USC unless its for a national championship. Could a 2 loss USC play Alabama in the Sugar? Yes, depending on the pecking order of the BCS bowls. If USC wins out but doesn't win the PAC 10, then they are most likely the 2nd team chosen out of the PAC 10 to play in a BCS game. I would have to look up what the pecking order is for team selection by the different BCS bowl games.
as much as i hate urban meyer and florida, i hate to say this, but i hope they knock the ever lovin snot out of bama in the seccg. with the officials help. edit: let me add that i hope bama gets royally f***ed by the refs without the benefit of lube. i want saban and a few players walking bow-legged the day after.
I don't think the 2nd Pac 10 team is going to the BCS this season. You have everyone in the Pac 10 with at least 2 losses over all right? This could be the year that 2 non BCS teams get into the BCS, you can't put a 2 loss team over an undefeated even if it is Boise, or TCU. I just want to see this game happen, and if it ain't for all the marbles it sure would be nice to get to show the media how wrong about USC they are.
I agree. At least when we lost to Fla. we know we lost. Against Bama, the officiating sucked. Peterson's pick, and the Bama D-line facemasking Hitt. Pathetic officiating, like they wanted Bama to win.
no you are right. what i was originally saying was that unless Alabama just blows it and drops a game to a dud before getting drummed in Atlanta maybe with Florida playing for the marbles we could sneak past Bama in the computers but it's unlikely.
yep, i remember why i know this...cause there was talk in 2007 of us playing in the rose bowl (vs USC I believe) before we got into the NCG. edit...it wasnt in 2007, maybe it was in 2006
Here is the selection process: Pecking order this year: Orange, Fiesta, Sugar (Rose automatically gets Big 10 and PAC 10 champs) Let's say SEC Champ #1 faces Texas #2 in the BCS CG (as an example): PAC 10 automatically gets PAC 10 champ and Big 10 Champ Orange automatically gets ACC Champ Fiesta would have gotten Texas but now has to replace them Sugar would have gotten Florida but now has to replace them So here are your picks: Replacement pick for Sugar - they will pick losing team in SEC CG Replacement pick for Fiesta - do they pick Big 12 team or USC? They would pick Okla St or OU if they run the table Orange picks opponent to face ACC Champ - Probably picks Big East Champ Fiesta picks opponent to face their replacement pick - Picks USC if they haven't been picked yet Sugar picks opponent to face losing team in SEC CG - Boise State or TCU What I would like to see is the Fiesta pick both TCU and Boise State, leave a 2nd Big 12 team out of it, and then USC plays in the Sugar.
yeah and last year UF played for the marbles and Bama played in the Sugar, so you were right, i just think that playing USC at the end of this season would be sweet!!!
