Have you done any research on this. Drug testing wellfare recipients removes noone from wellfare roles. It costs assloads of money. Why waste more money on another ineffective government program?

Souns like the eligibility requirements need to be changed then eh? If the program is too generous then cut it back. It is supposed to feed those who would otherwise starve. If it is doing more than that cut it back, and by all means, means test the hell out of it.

Myths of abuse are widespread and well documented, but actual abuse is minimal. Controls are getting constantly tightened. The area where fruad and abuse is rampant is unemployment. Wellfare is pretty tight since the Clinton reforms of the 90s.

Here we agree. They are all terrible.

I ahve done the research, why cant you just admit your post was hyperbole pointed at Obama, as if the program started with him and move the fuck on. Instead of the back peddling you are doing.
we are attacking the name and the content, you just refuse to admit what you were trying to do with the name.

You're correct in that Big O wasn't part of the phone phuck up but the 40 million net, now that's on him.

On the other side, I can't remember for sure but I seem to remember reading how we've gotten away from what the phones for the poor was initially intended. I'm not certain whose to blame for that one. I do know that Republicans realize the time for writing checks our ass can't cash is over but Big O still wants to live off the fat of the land. Problem is, the land's pretty lean now.

Perhaps the funniest thing is that most taxpayers had no clue about the phone give away.

I'm not sure how big of an impact people who can't afford the net will have on our economy. Granted some of this "plan" is to GET the net to rural places that don't have it and also some upgrades for those still with dial-up.

The Internet is huge for job seekers, I wouldn't be opposed to that.

Practically every public library in the country offers free internet access already.
