I am an MLB guy. I mean, yeah, my fav club is in the NL, but I am an MLB guy. and you're right. Bedard is a wild-man. although no one will ever see that, because ESPN is only worried about how far back the Yanks are from the Sox.
bedard shutout the yanks for the 2nd time in a row hes faced them. then his pen imploded and blew the win for him yesterday. 4hits 8ks. hes averaging over 11ks per 9ip. already 207 in 169 innings. pretty amazing. 12-4 (on a crappy baltimore team), 2.98era 207ks and 1.08 whip. only like his 3rd or 4th year and now with mazzone tutoring him.
Brad Penny is probably in the lead with a 14-3 record and 2.61 ERA. Two other pitchers who are looking at throwing their name in the hat: Roy Oswalt 13-6 3.32 always makes a late push, would probably have to go on a serious win streak (which is currently 5) and get to 20 wins. With 9 more starts, he has an outside shot at it. He would have to get his ERA down to 3.00, which he probably would if he gets 7 more wins. Aaron Harang 12-3 3.50 on a great run lately, would have to also end up with 17 or 18 wins, keep his loss total down (preferably to 4 or less) and lower his ERA to less than 3.30. Cole Hamels 14-5 3.50 can definitely reach 20 wins with that Philly offense and now that their bullpen in back in place, also would have to lower his ERA under 3.30.
Clair, why would you name a thread "If there is someone"? Big pet peeve of mine to "draw" or "tease" with meaningless titles, shows lack of confidence in the thread maker, not good.
sorry. if you'd like, you can PM me a list of rules regarding titles, so I can not commit this crime again. :dis: edit: a big pet peeve of mine is people who talk about the confidence of someone they don't even know through a msg board. EDIT: I received a PM and I saw the msg from Brett regarding thread titles, so i'm sorry. I won't do it again. As far as ISLSTL goes, i was just clowning around with him. he and i always pick at one another. i didn't mean anything by it. i hope he knew that.
so you're a brave fan cheering for the team we're chasing? shame, shame, shame. hahah j/k. i like the pads, myself.
the pads do have a cool stadium, though im indifferent about them. peavy went to high school with me so im a complete homer. however, b/c i follow him, i will say he gets screwed a lot...like most pad pitchers...anytime you rely on the giles brothers for run production you will most likely spend your night as the starting pitcher by getting an ice bath then drowning your sorrows with whiskey.
