This is the type of post that pisses off 95% of fans here. This is not criticism or football talk. It's smartass negativism.
We all know that no matter what Tebow will want to play. I think Meyer will look out for him as well but even if he doesn't in a case like this they have no choice. It's the doctor's call period. From what I understand concussions are somewhat like tennis elbow. I've never had a concussion but had plenty of tennis elbow. The 1st one doesn't happen very easily. The 2nd one happens easier. The 3rd even easier. And in each case it takes longer to heal than the last. Only in this case it's just an elbow tendon and not a brain. If those pro QB's both of whom felt they could still play & probably could walked away from the NFL due to concussions then I think UF should be VERY careful with Tebow. He seems like a really nice kid and I'd hate to see him become a vegetable trying to win something as relatively insignificant as a BCSNC.
I can't believe it...You'all are a bunch of mindless zombies for even reading much less posting on this thread. We play Georgia this week and looking past them is extremely bad mojo !!!
It's a good subject and deserves to be read & posted to. As far as winning this weekend it's going to take execution not mojo or some other vodoo crap.
My name is Steve...and I am a zombie. As for bad Mojo...ask Okie about it during baseball season . Okie....???? you're up.
Read my post in the Miles challenges thread. The zombie stuff is not serious...it's humorous...meant to point out how ridiculous it is to let one's self worth, happiness and being become defined by how LSU does on the football field. :tigereye:. By the way, after we escape with a win in Athens, I really like our chances against Florida, at night, in tiger stadium. Also I think being able to make adjustments with a flexible game plan is more of a concern than execution.
Please tell me you're kidding. Lighten up dude. First of all, I think you're out of touch with reality if you really think 95% of fans on here would really get upset about that post. A few brought it up just to mess around with, but nobody was mad. I was just making light of the situation since the topic is focused on whether we should knock Tebow out of the game when we didn't even sack Ooh La La's QB and Miss. St.'s QB once (not known for powerhouse O-lines). Second, I'm pretty sure I saw a thread where someone posted different stats (possibly interesting to some people) and your big contribution was to say that "stats were for nerds"... I would say that's both smartass and negative to those who care about stats. I personally don't really care, but I'm trying to make a point. There wasn't much football talk in that post. I'm also pretty sure I saw you say in another thread focused on the Saints that you've always said that the Saints would never win in your lifetime. Now I could be wrong and maybe I wasn't paying full attention in those psychology classes at LSU, but if I'm correct, that sounds like a somewhat negative attitude. Again, I don't care, but I'm trying to make a point. Did I miss something? Are there rules that everyone else should follow that you're exempt from. I wouldn't call myself a negative person. I do deal with reality every once in a while and sometimes it isn't all positive. Usually people get under my skin for being overly negative for no logical reason and that's when I get really negative (those are times when I may go a overboard...but that's life). I did offer a little criticism and football talk at the same time. I said, "We didn't have a sack in either of those games and rarely had any real pressure on the QB." That statement is obviously football talk and mildly critical. In fact, you could say it's a stat. But those are for nerds so we won't talk about stats... I also ended the post by saying, "Hopefully things change in that area. It would help our D out a lot." You see, when you hope for something you believe that a positive outcome is possible for that situation. It's a positive emotion. So I didn't end the post with any smartass negatism. But thanks for the lesson anyway Mother Teresa. Come on man, it's just a message board about LSU sports, etc.
Tebow plays under center?:grin::grin: In all seriousness, I don't like the guy cause he is a Gator, but he is an amazing College Football Player and could have an amazing pro career ahead of among other great things I'm sure are in store for his life. I'd like to play the best so if we win, we can say we beat the best, but he should not put his future or life on the line because he wants to win a game and a championship. Like you said, if he's not healthy, I don't think he should even suit up.
If Tebow doesn't play, or plays at reduced effectiveness, and the Tigers win, it would set up a possible meeting again in the SECCG in Atlanta. What a great storyline. The whole country would be watching.
