everyone here likes it when its called LSU baseball. and everyone (non-typical fan) in mlb liked it. this is the only thing to bring back the peripheral fan i suppose. of course i like baseball as it is. 2 pitchers with 3 complete game shutouts in a row? now thats good stuff. im off to houston as we speak. 30 games below .500 before the break.
i am less interested in your points when they are not related to the topic. again, sports have rules. its a very simple concept. if you can violate the rules to win, it doesnt mean you are doing better at your job.
again, you are not doing your job better if you are not playing by the rules. the pitcher who is giving up these dingers would not agree that the product on the field is better because batters have an advantage over pitchers. do you think paying off the umps so you get more calls is making you better at your job? you would certainly win more. a while. and you are right, its a very bad idea. not as bad as roids though i dont think. anyways, the argument isnt about that it is about playing by the rules. the league is for non-roids, thats the rule. you cant tell a league how to run their operation, it isnt your league. they do not agree that a man is doing his job better when he is taking advantage of the other players by cheating.
I agree with you, it is against the rules and there should be punishment for rule breakers. I just don't think it should be against the rules. Especially HGH because it's completely legal (in the real world) if prescribed by a doctor. Why can't these guys use this to rehab? If it helps them heal faster, and if they can prove they only used it to rehab, and then quit? If I told my boss I could do my job better and faster if I could hit the meth pipe before work and at lunch, he would be like, go for it homie.
then you agree your point about them improving job performance is nonsense. the goal of the employee is to follow the rules, thats how you improve job performance. right but doctors prescribe it for health reasons. bulking up to jack dingers is not a health concern. i knew guys in college that played in an under 200 pound league. should we have broken that league up because "I just don't think it should be against the rules" to be over 200? it isnt about what lasalle wants. i happen to hate baseball with tons of homers. and baseball is free to decide how they want their game to work. why not just move in the fences? why not just give each batter 5 strikes? the game has rules and they are for the good of the game. we dont need slippery slopes with HGH. how about we just have regular humans play a sport. how about we have it where a normal fellow has a chance to sompete without having to shoot himself up with hormones to make the roster? how about we value speed and agility and defensive skill and pitching craftiness? right but i was a spectator it would upset me that you were on meth. and the game is trying to entertain folks. i happen to want a league free of drugs. i am glad the baseball powers agree with me and cater to my interests. i do buy the tickets and pay the salaries. tirk might make an argumnt that baseball was mor epopular during the roid era. that may be true. but it doesnt change the fact that baseball is free to run their own league the way they want. perhaps another league could compete, and they could allow roids. you could watch that league. i would hate it. i already hate basically every confirmed roider except manny ramirez. i would rather watch jose reyes than mark mcgwire. thats just how i think baseball should be played. i agree that the league is not run perfectly. clearly the DH is a ****ing abomination. but these matters of rules are not really something we have a say in, are they? clearly the DH hurts the ability of the pitching team to "do their jobs", as you would say. but thats a very stupid way to analyze it, for lots of reasons. good talk. you take it easy.
Man, you must have hated LSU baseball in the mid to late 90s and all those championships the 3-run homer earned them.
i liked it, but only because lsu was winning. i think the aluminum bat is a dangerous and silly thing. i think baseball is a better sport when played by normal sized humans, in large parks with wooden bats.
I agree with all of the comments. I think wooden bats should be used at all levels. I did enjoy those LSU teams though. I'm fine with not being a professional athlete because I simply wasn't quite that elite. I wouldn't be fine if I was doing everything by the book and had elite talent but everyone else was taking PEDs to be super-elite. I also don't want my kids to "have" to take PEDs just to keep up with everyone else.
